1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Public Health (Further Extension of Declared Public Health Emergency—COVID-19) Regulation (No. 3) 2020.

2Further extension of period of declared public health emergency—Act, s 323

(1)This section applies to the declared public health emergency—
(a)declared by the Minister on 29 January 2020 under section 319(2) of the Act; and
(b)extended by the Public Health (Extension of Declared Public Health Emergency—Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)) Regulation 2020 made on 5 February 2020 under section 323(1) of the Act; and
(c)further extended under section 323(1) of the Act by—
(i)the Public Health (Further Extension of Declared Public Health Emergency—Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)) Regulation 2020 made on 6 February 2020; and
(ii)the Public Health (Further Extension of Declared Public Health Emergency—Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)) Regulation (No. 2) 2020 made on 18 February 2020.
(2)The period of the declared public health emergency is further extended under section 323(1) of the Act by 90 days.

Editor’s note—

The period of the declared public health emergency is now extended until the end of the day on 17 August 2020.

Notes—

1Under section 323(2) of the Act, this regulation commences on the day it is made whether or not it is notified on that day.
2Under section 323(3)(b) of the Act, this regulation expires at the end of the extended period unless it is sooner repealed or it expires under section 324(3) of the Act.
