The Information Privacy Act 2009 applies to the Queensland public sector. The Act contains privacy principles which set out how agencies may and must handle personal information. Personal information means any information about an identifiable person.

Website privacy and security statement

The Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel (OQPC), as the author of the Queensland Legislation website, is committed to protecting the privacy of its website users. We understand and appreciate that users of this website are concerned about their privacy and the confidentiality and security of information they provide to us.

Information collected

As a general rule, we do not collect personal information about you when you visit this website. When you read or download information, our Internet Service Providers record anonymous information only.

Atom/RSS feeds

This site provides Atom/RSS feeds that website users can access to keep up to date. The site does not store any information about Atom/RSS feed subscription or personal data. All Atom/RSS information is stored locally on the remote user’s device.
