1Short title

This notice may be cited as the Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Codes of Practice) Notice 2011.

2Commencement

This notice commences on 1 January 2012.

3Dictionary

The dictionary in schedule 3 defines particular words used in this notice.

4Notice of approval of codes of practice—Act, s 43(2)

(1)Subsection (2) applies to an entry in schedule 1 naming a code of practice and stating that it has been approved as a code of practice by a ministerial instrument stated in the entry.
(2)The entry is notice for the purposes of section 43(2) of the Act that the ministerial instrument stated in the entry approving the code of practice has been made by the Minister.

1Codes of practice are available for inspection, without charge, during normal business hours at each department office dealing with work health and safety. See section 43(7) of the Act.
2Codes of practice are also available on the department’s website at www.worksafe.qld.gov.au.
(3)The commencement date for each code of practice set out in schedule 1, column 3, is included for information purposes only.

Note—

Under section 43(5) of the Act, a code of practice made under section 43 of the Act expires 10 years after its commencement.

5Notice of variation of codes of practice, and of making of instrument varying codes of practice—Act, s 43(2)

(1)Subsection (2) applies if an entry in schedule 1 for a code of practice states that the code of practice has been varied by a ministerial instrument stated in the entry.
(2)The entry is notice for the purposes of section 43(2) of the Act that the ministerial instrument stated in the entry varying the code of practice has been made by the Minister.

6Notice of revocation of codes of practice, and of making of instrument revoking codes of practice—Act, s 43(2)

(1)Subsection (2) applies if an entry in schedule 2 for a code of practice states that the code of practice has been revoked by a ministerial instrument stated in the entry.
(2)The entry is notice for the purposes of section 43(2) of the Act that the ministerial instrument stated in the entry revoking the code of practice has been made by the Minister.
(3)The commencement date and revocation date for a code of practice mentioned in schedule 2, columns 3 and 4, are included for information purposes only.
