Diseases in Timber Regulation 1997

1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Diseases in Timber Regulation 1997 .

2Definitions

In this regulation—
approved form see section 3.
declared disease means a disease declared under section 4.

3Approval of forms

The chief executive may approve forms for use under the Act.

4Disease declarations

A disease consisting of the presence of the following organisms is declared to be a disease under the Act—
(a) Cryptotermes brevis (West Indian drywood termite);
(b) Sirex noctilio F. (sirex wasp).

5Infected area declaration

The whole of the State is declared to be an infected area for a declared disease.

6Measures authorised for infected areas

The taking of measures in an infected area to exterminate, prevent or control the dissemination of the disease the area is declared for is authorised.

7Declared diseases are notifiable diseases

For section 10 (1) of the Act, a declared disease is declared to be a notifiable disease.

8Prescribed manner for claiming compensation—Act, s 11 (1)

For section 11 (1) of the Act, a claim for compensation to the minister must be—
(a)in the approved form; and
(b)given to the department’s office at Brisbane.
