This regulation may be cited as the Diseases in Timber Regulation 1997 .
In this regulation—approved form see section 3.declared disease means a disease declared under section 4.
The chief executive may approve forms for use under the Act.
A disease consisting of the presence of the following organisms is declared to be a disease under the Act—(a) Cryptotermes brevis (West Indian drywood termite);(b) Sirex noctilio F. (sirex wasp).s 4 amd 2009 SL No. 151 s 3
The whole of the State is declared to be an infected area for a declared disease.s 5 sub 2009 SL No. 151 s 4
6Measures authorised for infected areas
The taking of measures in an infected area to exterminate, prevent or control the dissemination of the disease the area is declared for is authorised.s 6 prev s 6 om 2009 SL No. 151 s 5

7Declared diseases are notifiable diseases
For section 10 (1) of the Act, a declared disease is declared to be a notifiable disease.s 7 (prev s 8) renum 2009 SL No. 151 s 6
8Prescribed manner for claiming compensation—Act, s 11 (1)
For section 11 (1) of the Act, a claim for compensation to the minister must be—(a)in the approved form; and(b)given to the department’s office at Brisbane.The department’s Brisbane office is at 80 Ann Street, Brisbane.s 8 (prev s 9) (2)–(3) exp 15 February 1998 (see s 9 (3))
