force on 6 December 1996]˙Short title1.This regulation may be cited as
theState Financial Institutions andMetwayMergerFacilitation(Transitional–TransferofAssetsandLiabilities) Regulation 1996.˙Application of
regulation2.This regulation applies if, under the
Metway scheme of arrangement,an asset or
liability of Suncorp Holdings Limited (A.C.N. 075 679 033)(“SHL”) is transferred
to Metway.1˙Relationship
between customers of SHL and Metway3.TherelationshipexistingbetweenSHLandaperson(includingacustomer of SHL) in relation to the asset or
liability immediately before theMetway
amalgamation day2continues between Metway and the
person onand from the Metway amalgamation day and
gives rise to the same rights(including rights
of set-off) and the same liabilities as would have arisen ifthere
had been no transfer.1Suncorp Holdings

Regulation 1996˙Instructions to or by SHL and
information about customers4.(1)An instruction,
order, mandate, authority or notice given to or bySHL
before the Metway amalgamation day is, so far as it is referable to
theasset or liability, taken to have been given
to or by Metway.(2)Metway is entitled to possession of,
and use of information containedin,alldocumentstowhichSHLwasentitledimmediatelybeforetheMetway amalgamation day that are
referable to the asset or liability.˙Expiry5.Under section 94(2)(b) of the Act, this
regulation expires 12 monthsafter it
commences.
