1—PRELIMINARY˙Short title1.This
regulation may be cited as theGovernment Owned
CorporationsRegulation 1994.˙Commencement2.This
regulation (other than Part 5) commences on 1 January 1995.˙References to entities3.In this regulation, a reference to an
entity is a reference to—(a)the entity when
it is nominated to be a candidate GOC or declaredto
be a subsidiary of a candidate GOC; or(b)if
the entity changes during the process of corporatisation of
itselfor another entity—the entity as it changes
from time to time.˙Responsible Ministers may decide limits
of nominated entities4.To remove doubt
during the process of corporatisation of governmententities, the responsible Ministers may
decide whether a specified part of agovernment entity
is, or is not, taken to be included in—(a)an
entity nominated to be a candidate GOC; or(b)an
entity declared to be a subsidiary of a candidate GOC.

GOCS, GOCS AND GOCSUBSIDIARIES˙Candidate GOCs5.Each
government entity set out in Schedule 1 is nominated to be acandidate GOC.˙GOCs6.Each government
entity set out in Schedule 2 is a GOC.˙GOC
subsidiaries7.Each government entity (other than a
GOC) set out in Schedule 3 is asubsidiary of the
GOC under which it appears in the Schedule.†PART
3—TRANSITIONAL1˙Transitional
application for certain entities8.(1)Subsections (2) and (3) apply despite the
repeal of the GovernmentOwned Corporations Regulation
1993.(2)Section6(Governmententitiesdeclaredtobesubsidiaries)oftheGovernment Owned Corporations
Regulation 1993 is taken to continue tohaveeffectuntilQueenslandTransmissionandSupplyCorporationbecomes a
GOC.(3)Corporate Business Unit of QEC and
Generation Business Unit ofQECaretakentobeincludedinSchedule1ofthisregulationuntilQueenslandGenerationCorporationandQueenslandTransmissionand1ThisPartexpiredbeforethereprintdatebuthasbeenincludedforinformationpurposes.

Regulation1994Supply Corporation become GOCs.(4)Queensland Generation Corporation and
Queensland Transmissionand Supply Corporation are taken not to
be included in Schedule 2 of thisregulation until
they become GOCs.(5)Section7ofthisregulationistakennottohaveeffectuntilQueensland
Transmission and Supply Corporation becomes a GOC.(6)This section expires at the end of the
day on which it commences.
