This regulation may be cited as the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Regulation 2003 .
This regulation commences on 1 July 2004.
3Transitional matters—Act, ss 153, 154, 157 and 159
(1)For section 153 (4) of the Act, section 36 (a) (ii) of the Act does not apply to an application to which section 153 applies made before 1 January 2005.(2)For section 154 (4) of the Act, section 36 (a) (ii) of the Act does not apply to an application to which section 154 applies made before 1 January 2005.(3)For section 157 (2) of the Act, section 41 (1) (b) (iii) and (iv) of the Act does not apply to a continued licence until 1 January 2005.(4)For section 157 (6) of the Act, section 36 (a) (ii) of the Act does not apply to an application for the renewal of a continued licence made before 1 January 2005.(5)For section 159 (3) of the Act, section 41 (1) (b) (iii) and (iv) of the Act does not apply to a licence mentioned in section 159 (1) (c) and issued before 1 January 2005 until 1 January 2005.
4Infection control competency standard
(1)For schedule 2 of the Act, definition infection control qualification, the infection control competency standard is attainment of the competency called ‘HLTIN402C—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings’, approved by the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education.(2)The competency mentioned in subsection (1) is taken to include the competency by its former titles ‘HLTIN2A—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings’ and ‘HLTIN402B—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings’.s 4 ins 2004 SL No. 89 s 4
