An Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial years starting 1 July 2020 and 1 July 2021

The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Parliament) (2020–2021) Act 2020.

Note—

Under the Financial Accountability Act 2009, section 5, words used in this Act that are defined under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 have the same meaning the words have in that Act, subject to a contrary intention in this Act.

2Appropriation for 2020–2021

(1)The Treasurer is authorised to pay $101,823,000 from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial year starting 1 July 2020.
(2)The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is appropriated for the financial year for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for application to its departmental services, equity adjustment and administered items as stated in schedule 1.
(3)The amount mentioned in subsection (1) includes the amounts already authorised to be paid for the financial year starting 1 July 2020 under each of the following provisions—
(a)the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2019, section 3;
(b)the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2020, section 3(1).

3Supply for 2021–2022

The Treasurer is authorised to pay $50,912,000 from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial year starting 1 July 2021.

4Repeals

The following Acts are repealed—
Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2018, No. 15
Appropriation (Parliament) Act (No. 2) 2018, No. 25.
