An Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the consolidated fund for departments for the financial years starting 1 July 2019 and 1 July 2020

The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (COVID-19) Act 2020.

Note—

Under the Financial Accountability Act 2009, section 5, words used in this Act that are defined under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 have the same meaning the words have in that Act, subject to a contrary intention in this Act.

2Supplementary appropriation for 2019–2020

(1)The Treasurer is authorised to pay $3,181,010,000 from the consolidated fund for the financial year starting 1 July 2019.
(2)The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is appropriated for the financial year for Queensland Treasury for application to its administered items.
(3)The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is in addition to the amount of $54,698,900,000 already authorised by the Appropriation Act 2019, section 2, to be issued from the consolidated fund for departments for the financial year starting 1 July 2019.

3Further supply for 2020–2021

(1)The Treasurer is authorised to pay $1,614,800,000 from the consolidated fund for departments for the financial year starting 1 July 2020.
(2)The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is in addition to the amount of $27,349,450,000 already authorised by the Appropriation Act 2019, section 3, to be issued from the consolidated fund for departments for the financial year starting 1 July 2020.
