This regulation may be cited as the Education (General Provisions) Amendment (Postponement) Regulation 2026.
2Postponed commencement of uncommenced provisions
(1)The period before automatic commencement, under the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 15DA(2), of the postponed law is extended to the end of 11 April 2027.The postponed law now automatically commences on 12 April 2027.(2)In this section—postponed law means the following provisions of the Education (General Provisions) Amendment Act 2025—(a)sections 33 and 34;(b)section 36(1) to (4);(c)section 38, to the extent it inserts sections 552 and 553;(d)section 39(1) and (2), to the extent it inserts definitions former school, former student, new school, previous school, related document, relevant person and transfer note.
This regulation expires on 13 April 2027.
