Major Events (Motor Racing Events) (Gold Coast 500) Amendment Regulation 2026

1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) (Gold Coast 500) Amendment Regulation 2026.

2Regulation amended

This regulation amends the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) Regulation 2015.

3Amendment of s 9 (Gold Coast 500 is a major event—Act, s 12)

Section 9, ‘2025’—
omit, insert—

2026

4Amendment of s 12 (Major event period for Gold Coast 500—Act, s 12)

Section 12, from ‘the period’—
omit, insert—

the period—

(a)starting on 22 October 2026 at midday; and

(b)ending on 26 October 2026 at midday.

5Insertion of new ss 12A and 12B

After section 12—
insert—

12A Provisions of pt 5 of Act applying to Gold Coast 500—Act, s 12

For section 12(2)(d) of the Act, the following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the Gold Coast 500 for the major event period—

(a)section 31;

(b)section 36.

12B Provisions of pt 5 of Act applying to major event area for Gold Coast 500—Act, s 12

For section 12(2)(e) of the Act, the following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the major event area for the Gold Coast 500 for the major event period—

(a)section 18, other than subsections (5) and (8);

(b)sections 19 to 28;

(c)section 31A;

(d)section 40.

6Amendment of s 13 (Carrying out temporary works for Gold Coast 500—Act, s 16)

Section 13(a) and (b)—
omit, insert—

(a)the period starting on 7 September 2026 at the beginning of the day and ending on 22 October 2026 at midday;

(b)the period starting on 26 October 2026 at midday and ending on 21 November 2026 at the end of the day.

7Insertion of new s 13A

After section 13—
insert—

13A Declaration of official logos for Gold Coast 500—Act, s 51

For section 51(1)(a) of the Act, each logo shown in schedule 3 is declared to be an official logo for the Gold Coast 500.

8Amendment of s 14 (Declaration of official title for Gold Coast 500—Act, s 51)
