This regulation may be cited as the Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Amendment Regulation 2026.
(1)Part 2 commences on 1 March 2026.(2)Part 3 commences on 5 October 2026.
This regulation amends the Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Regulation 2021.
Chapter 10—
insert—258Particular qualifications or training taken to be immunisation training
(1)This section applies if, immediately before the commencement—(a)a person was required, for practising a profession under a former extended practice authority, to hold a particular qualification or have completed particular training to deal with a medicine stated in the authority to carry out an immunisation program or service; and(b)the person held the qualification or had completed the training.(2)From the commencement, for applying schedule 3, 7 or 9 to the person practising the profession, the person is taken to have completed immunisation training to carry out the same type of dealing with any immunisation medicine.(3)In this section—former extended practice authority means an extended practice authority in effect immediately before the commencement.
