1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Amendment Regulation (No. 4) 2025.

2Commencement

This regulation commences on 1 December 2025.

3Regulation amended

This regulation amends the Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Regulation 2021.

4Amendment of s 86 (Content of written prescription)

Section 86(1)(m)—
omit, insert—

(m)if the medicine is a restricted medicine—the details of the prescriber’s authorisation to prescribe the restricted medicine.

Examples for paragraph (m)—

the identifying number of the prescribing approval held by the prescriber
the qualifications of the prescriber

5Amendment of s 87 (Additional content of written prescription for S8 medicine)
