1Short title

This notice may be cited as the Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Code of Practice) Notice 2022.

2Commencement

This notice commences on 1 August 2022.

3Definitions

The dictionary in schedule 2 defines particular words used in this notice.

4Approved code of practice

The code of practice mentioned in schedule 1 is an approved code of practice that—
(a)was approved by the ministerial instrument mentioned in schedule 1 for the code of practice; and
(b)commenced on the date mentioned in schedule 1 for the code of practice.

Notes—

1The approval of the code of practice was notified under the Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Codes of Practice) Notice 2011, repealed under section 5.
2Under section 43(5) of the Act, the code of practice expires 10 years after its commencement.
3A copy of the code of practice is available on Workplace Health and Safety Queensland’s website and at the places mentioned in section 43(7) of the Act.

5Repeal

The Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Codes of Practice) Notice 2011, SL No. 261 is repealed.

Schedule 2 Dictionary

section 3

MI 2018 (approval) No. 1 means the ministerial instrument titled ‘Safety in Recreational Water Activities Approval of Codes of Practice Notice (No. 1) 2018’.
ministerial instrument means an instrument made by the Minister under section 43(1) of the Act to approve a code of practice.
