Part 1 Preliminary

1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Liquor (Kowanyama) and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation 2022.

2Regulation amended

This part amends the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities (Justice, Land and Other Matters) Regulation 2008.

3Amendment of s 5A (Prescribed community area—Act, s 27)

Section 5A(2)—
insert—
(c)the Shire of Kowanyama;
(d)lot 4 on SP215744, known as Mitchell-Alice Rivers National Park;
(e)lot 5 on SP215744, known as Errk Oykangand National Park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land).

Part 3 Amendment of Liquor Regulation 2002

4Regulation amended

This part amends the Liquor Regulation 2002.

5Amendment of sch 1G (Kowanyama)

Schedule 1G, section 2
omit, insert—

2Prescribed quantity

(1)The prescribed quantity of liquor for each restricted area is—
(a)for any of the following in which the concentration of alcohol is less than 4%—4.5L in total—
(i)beer;
(ii)pre-mixed alcoholic drink;
(iii)a combination in any proportion of beer and pre-mixed alcoholic drink; and
(b)for wine, other than fortified wine—2L; and
(c)for any other liquor—zero.
(2)In this section—
fortified wine includes muscat, port and sherry.
pre-mixed alcoholic drink means an alcoholic mixed drink prepared by a manufacturer.
