Part 1 Preliminary

1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Liquor (Kowanyama) Amendment Regulation 2020.

2Commencement

(1)Part 3 commences on 1 January 2021, immediately after the commencement of the Liquor (Kowanyama and Pormpuraaw) Amendment Regulation 2020, part 3.
(2)Part 4 commences on 1 July 2021.

3Regulation amended

This regulation amends the Liquor Regulation 2002.

5Insertion of new s 37

After section 36P—
insert—

37 Exemption for particular community liquor permit in Kowanyama Shire Council

(1)This section applies to any application for a community liquor permit made by the Kowanyama Sport and Recreation Association Inc, between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2021, for an event in the community area of the Kowanyama Shire Council.
(2)Despite section 36D, no fee is payable for the application under the Act.
(3)This section expires on 30 June 2021.

6Amendment of sch 1G (Kowanyama)

Schedule 1G, section 2—
omit, insert—

2Prescribed quantity

The prescribed quantity of liquor for each restricted area is—
(a)for liquor in which the concentration of alcohol is less than 4%—2.25L; or
(b)for any other liquor—zero.
