1Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Electricity and Other Legislation (Price Determinations) Amendment Regulation 2018.

2Regulation amended

This part amends the Electricity Regulation 2006.

3Insertion of new s 225B

After section 225A
insert—

225B Obtaining information for price determinations

(1)A pricing entity may, in writing, ask AEMO for relevant information, including protected information, the pricing entity requires to make a price determination under chapter 4, part 2, division 3 of the Act.
(2)AEMO must, within the reasonable period stated in the request, give the relevant information to the pricing entity unless, in the circumstances, AEMO could not reasonably have been expected to have, or to be able to obtain, the information.
(3)In this section—
protected information see the National Electricity (Queensland) Law, section 54(1).

4Regulation amended

This part amends the National Energy Retail Law (Queensland) Regulation 2014.

5Replacement of sch 5, s 9 (New rule 48A)

Schedule 5, section 9
omit, insert—

Rule 48A(3)—
insert—

(g)information about, and a general description of, the alternative contractual options that may be available to the small customer to purchase customer retail services for their premises; and
(h)information about the ability of the small customer to choose an alternative retailer to purchase customer retail services after the relevant benefit period ends; and
(i)details about the prices applicable to the sale of electricity to the premises concerned under the contract when the relevant benefit period ends.
