Finding legislative information on this website

Historical and other legislative information is available on this website for all Queensland legislation and reprints (except backcaptured files). This information was previously found in the Current and Repealed annotations publications and in the endnotes for reprints.

Legislative information at the document level is now available via the Legislative history button on the status information page for Bills, Acts, subordinate legislation (SL) and reprints. The history of changes in reprints at the provision level, previously available in the endnotes List of annotations, is now available as history notes’ displayed ‘inline’ within the text of a reprint.

For principal Bills/Acts and principal SL and the reprints of that legislation, the legislative history is cumulative over the legislation’s lifecycle.

For amendment Bills/Acts, amendment SL, proclamations and postponement regulations, the legislative history ends when all provisions have commenced (though the legislative history for the affected reprints will change).

Principal Bills and Acts

Note: ‘Amendment’ does not generally appear in the name of a principal Bill or Act.

The content of the legislative history for principal Bills/Acts depends on what stage of the legislation lifecycle has been reached. Information about the Bill builds to become information about the Act as passed which, in turn, builds to become information about reprints of the Act.
