Major Events (AFC Asian Cup) Regulation 2014 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Major Events (AFC Asian Cup) Regulation 2014 [reprinted as in force on 1 January 2015] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Major Events (AFC Asian Cup) Regulation 2014 . 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 1 January 2015. 3 Definitions In this regulation— AFC Asian Cup means the major event prescribed under section 4. Brisbane Stadium means the facility called ‘Brisbane Stadium’ that is a major sports facility under the Major Sports Facilities Act 2001 . Current as at 1 January 2015 Page 3

Major Events (AFC Asian Cup) Regulation 2014 Part 2 Provisions about AFC Asian Cup [s 4] Part 2 Provisions about AFC Asian Cup 4 AFC Asian Cup is major event For section 12(1) of the Act, the international football tournament known as the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, to the extent the tournament is being held in the State, is a major event. 5 Major event organiser for AFC Asian Cup For section 12(2)(a) of the Act, the Local Organising Committee AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015 Ltd ACN 157 771 330 is the major event organiser for the AFC Asian Cup. 6 Major event area for AFC Asian Cup For section 12(2)(b) of the Act, the major event area for the AFC Asian Cup is the area— (a) where Brisbane Stadium is located; and (b) shown on the map in schedule 1 as the major event area. 7 Controlled area for AFC Asian Cup For section 12(3)(a) of the Act, the controlled area for the AFC Asian Cup is the area surrounding Brisbane Stadium shown on the map in schedule 1 as the controlled area. 8 Major event periods and control periods for AFC Asian Cup For section 12(2)(c) and (3)(b) of the Act, the following periods are major event periods and control periods for the AFC Asian Cup— (a) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Saturday 10 January 2015; (b) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Monday 12 January 2015; Page 4 Current as at 1 January 2015

Major Events (AFC Asian Cup) Regulation 2014 Part 2 Provisions about AFC Asian Cup [s 9] (c) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Wednesday 14 January 2015; (d) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Friday 16 January 2015; (e) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Saturday 17 January 2015; (f) between 2p.m. and 11p.m. on Monday 19 January 2015; (g) between 3p.m. and midnight on Thursday 22 January 2015. 9 Application of Act provisions to AFC Asian Cup For section 12(2)(d) and (3)(c) of the Act, sections 18, 20(1) to (5) and (7), 25, 26(1)(a) to (c) and (e), (2), (3) and (6), 30, 32, 33 and 35 of the Act apply to— (a) the AFC Asian Cup; and (b) the major event area during each major event period for the AFC Asian Cup; and (c) the controlled area during each control period for the AFC Asian Cup. 10 Persons who may be appointed as authorised persons For section 56(1)(d) of the Act, crowd controllers under the Security Providers Act 1993 are prescribed for the AFC Asian Cup. 11 Limitation on particular authorised person’s powers (1) This section limits, for section 57(2) of the Act, the powers of particular authorised persons for the AFC Asian Cup. (2) The powers of an authorised person who is not a police officer do not include the powers stated in sections 18(5)(b) to (f), 25, 30(4), 32(5), 33(4) and 63 of the Act. (3) The powers of an authorised person under section 18(5)(a) of the Act may be exercised only by— Current as at 1 January 2015 Page 5
