notice applies to the following species (each aharvestmacropod)—(a)eastern grey kangaroo (Macropusgiganteus);(b)red kangaroo
(Macropusrufus);(c)common wallaroo
(Macropusrobustus).4DefinitionsIn this
notice—additionalweight,foreachprescribedpartofaharvestmacropod, means the additional weight stated
in schedule 1,column 2 opposite the prescribed part of the
macropod statedin schedule 1, column 1.central harvest
zonemeans the area consisting of the area
ofeach local government mentioned in schedule
2, part 1.conservationplanmeanstheNatureConservation(Macropod)ConservationPlan2005.dress, a harvest

skin the macropod; or(ii)to remove the
head, paws, tail or an internal organof the macropod;
but(b)does not include to process the
macropod.eastern harvest zonemeans the area
consisting of the area ofeach local government mentioned in
schedule 2, part 2.fullydressed,inrelationtoaharvestmacropod,meansaharvest macropod with all of the
following parts removed—(a)the head;(b)the viscera;(c)each
of the forelimbs, from the elbow joint;(d)the
foot of 1 hind limb, from a point below the tarsaljoint;(e)thehindlimb,otherthanthehindlimbmentionedinparagraph (d), from a point on the tibia
midway betweenthe knee and ankle joints;(f)the tail, not more than 160mm from a
point where theundersideofthetailjoinsthebodyintheexternalurogenital

3.prescribed part, of a harvest
macropod, means a part of themacropod stated
in schedule 1, column 1.relevant zonemeans the
central harvest zone, eastern harvestzone or western
harvest zone.viscerameansallofthecontentsoftheabdominalandthoracic cavities.western harvest
zonemeans the area consisting of the area
ofeach local government mentioned in schedule

for harvest macropods(1)Theharvestperiodforaharvestmacropodstarts,foreachrelevant zone,
on 1 January 2014 and ends at the end of—(a)if
the chief executive has published a notice stating thechiefexecutiveissatisfiedthattherelevantmaximumamountforthemacropodforthezonewillhavebeentaken in 2014 by a day stated in the
notice—the statedday; or(b)otherwise—31 December 2014.(2)A notice mentioned in subsection
(1)(a) must be published—(a)in a newspaper
circulating generally in the State; and(b)on
or before the day the harvest period ends.(3)If
the chief executive publishes or intends to publish a noticementioned in subsection (1)(a) for a harvest
macropod for arelevant zone, the chief executive must also
give each holderof a macropod harvesting licence for the
macropod a writtennotice stating—(a)thechiefexecutiveissatisfiedthattherelevantmaximum amount
for the relevant zone will have beentaken in 2014 by
the day stated in the notice; and(b)the
harvest period for the macropod for the zone ends atthe
end of the stated day.(4)Thechiefexecutivemustgivethenoticementionedinsubsection (3) at least 7 days before
the day the harvest periodends.(5)A
copy of a notice mentioned in subsection (1)(a) may also beinspected on the department’s

6]macropod harvesting licencemeans—(a)a
commercial wildlife harvesting licence for macropods;or(b)a recreational
wildlife harvesting licence for macropods.relevant maximum
amountmeans—(a)for
an eastern grey kangaroo—(i)for the central
harvest zone—15% of the estimatedpopulation size
for the kangaroo in the zone; or(ii)for
the eastern harvest zone—10% of the estimatedpopulation size
for the kangaroo in the zone; or(b)for
a red kangaroo—(i)for the central harvest zone—20% of
the estimatedpopulation size for the kangaroo in the
zone; or(ii)for the eastern
harvest zone—10% of the estimatedpopulation size
for the kangaroo in the zone; or(iii)forthewesternharvestzone—10%oftheestimated
population size for the kangaroo in thezone; or(c)for a common wallaroo—(i)for the central harvest zone—15% of
the estimatedpopulation size for the wallaroo in the
zone; or(ii)for the eastern
harvest zone—10% of the estimatedpopulation size
for the wallaroo in the zone; or(iii)forthewesternharvestzone—10%oftheestimatedpopulationsizeforthewallaroointhezone.6Condition on taking particular harvest

11(1)(b) of the conservation plan, an eastern greykangaroomustnotbetakenfromthewesternharvestzoneduring the

of harvest macropod(1)For section 11(1)(e) of the
conservation plan, the carcass orskin of a
harvest macropod taken under a commercial wildlifeharvestinglicenceformacropodsduringtheharvestperiodmustnotbesoldorgivenawayduringtheperiodifthemacropod’s body has a bullet
wound.(2)In this section—body, of
a harvest macropod, means a part of the macropod’sbody
other than its head.8Minimum area for skin of harvest
macropod taken forskin onlyFor section 12
of the conservation plan, the minimum area fortheskinofaharvestmacropodtakenforitsskinonlyis0.41m2.9Minimum weights
for carcass of harvest macropod takenfor meat only or
meat and skin(1)For section 13 of the conservation
plan, the minimum wholeweightforthecarcassofaharvestmacropodtakenforitsmeat only or for both its meat and
skin is 20kg.(2)For section 13 of the conservation
plan, the minimum dressedweightforthecarcassofaharvestmacropodtakenforitsmeat only or for both its meat and
skin is—(a)if the macropod is fully dressed—13kg;
or(b)otherwise—13kgplustheadditionalweightforeachprescribed part
of the macropod that is in, on or attachedto the
macropod.10ExpiryThis notice
