Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Emergency Pest Notice 2008 [s 1] Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Emergency Pest Notice 2008 [reprinted as in force on 15 April 2008] 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Emergency Pest Notice 2008 . Note — Unless it is earlier repealed, this notice expires 3 months after it commences. See section 37(7) of the Act. 2 Declaration about notice This notice is an emergency pest notice. 3 Nature of emergency (1) The nature of the emergency is the urgent need to control the spread of the pest and reduce its negative impacts. (2) The pest poses a risk to human safety and has the potential to severely affect Queensland’s natural biodiversity. (3) In this section— pest means the plant declared under section 5 to be a declared pest. 4 Part of the State in which this notice applies This notice applies in the whole of the State. 5 Declaration of pest It is declared that gamba grass ( Andropogon gayanus ) is a declared pest of the category class 2 pest.
