notice—AsiansugarcaneplanthoppermeansthepestPerkinsiellathompsoni(Muir).pestquarantineareameans
the pest quarantine area declaredunder section
3.sugarcaneplantmeans
a plant of the genusSaccharum.3Declaration of pest quarantine
areaThe whole of Queensland is declared to be a
pest quarantinearea for Asian sugarcane planthopper.4Objects of quarantineThe
objects of the quarantine are—(a)topreventthemovementofAsiansugarcaneplanthopper into the pest quarantine area;
and

2007(b)topreventorcontrolthespreadofAsiansugarcaneplanthopper in areas in the pest quarantine
area in whichsugarcane is commercially produced;
and(c)to control or remove pest infestation
of Asian sugarcaneplanthopper in the pest quarantine
area.5Restriction on moving Asian sugarcane
planthopperApersonmustnot,withoutaninspector’sapproval,moveAsian sugarcane planthopper—(a)into the pest quarantine area;
or(b)fromaparceloflandinthepestquarantineareatoanother parcel of land in the
area.6Restriction on moving
appliances(1)A person must not, without an
inspector’s approval, move anappliance that
has been in contact with a sugarcane plant thatcomesfromanareainfestedwithAsiansugarcaneplanthopper—(a)into
the pest quarantine area; or(b)fromaparceloflandinthepestquarantineareatoanother parcel of
land in the area.(2)Aninspectormaygiveanapproval,withorwithoutconditions, only
if the inspector is satisfied the movement ofthe appliance
will not pose a significant risk of—(a)introducingAsiansugarcaneplanthopperintothepestquarantine area;
or(b)spreadingAsiansugarcaneplanthopperinthepestquarantine
area.7Restriction on moving sugarcane
plant(1)A person must not, without an

that comes from an area infested with Asiansugarcane
planthopper —(a)into the pest quarantine area;
