site(1)The special event site for the 2007
Lexmark Indy 300 is—(a)theGoldCoastHighway,Southport,fromitsintersection with Ada Bell Way to its
intersection withWaterways Drive, Main Beach; and(b)the land at Main Beach and Surfers
Paradise within thefollowing boundaries—(i)a
direct line from the intersection of the Gold CoastHighway and the northern side of Waterways
DrivetotheintersectionoftheeasternsideofRankinParade and the
northern side of Cronin Avenue;(ii)thenorthernsideofCroninAvenuetotheintersection with
Pacific Street;(iii)adirectlinefromtheintersectionmentionedinsubparagraph(ii)tolowwatermarkonMainBeach;1Act,
chapter 19 (Other powers), part 2 (Preserving safety for special
events)

from the pointmentioned in subparagraph (v) to the western
sideofitsintersectionwiththeGoldCoastHighwayand Thomas
Drive;(vii) the western side of the Gold Coast
Highway fromthepointmentionedinsubparagraph(vi)toitsintersectionwiththenorthernsideofWaterwaysDrive.(2)However,landthatisnotapublicplaceisnotpartofthespecial event
site.(3)In subsection (1), a reference to a
street includes a reference toa footpath
immediately adjacent to the street.(4)In
this section—footpathmeans an area
open to the public that is designatedfor, or has as 1
of its main uses, use by pedestrians.streetincludes an avenue, drive, esplanade,
highway, paradeand way.4Period of special eventTheperiodforwhichthespecialeventdeclarationundersection 2 is in force starts on 17 October
2007 and ends atmidnight on 22 October 2007.
