regulation—APECmeans Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation.barricadeincludes a

special event(1)The event consisting of the APEC
meeting, Finance MinistersMeeting to be held at Coolum from 30
July 2007 to 3 August2007 is declared to be a special event
for chapter 19, part 2 ofthe Act.(2)Forsubsection(1),theAPECmeetingincludesthefollowing—(a)functions attended by APEC
delegates;

2007(b)entertainmenteventsheldforthebenefitofAPECdelegates;(c)accommodation of APEC delegates, APEC
officials andotherofficialsassociatedwiththeorganisationofAPEC;(d)the
arrival of APEC delegates, APEC officials and otherofficialsassociatedwiththeorganisationofAPECatSunshine Coast
Airport and their departure from it.10Special event site(1)Each
area described in schedule 2 is a special event site for thespecial event.(2)However, a special event site for the
special event does notinclude a place that is not a public
place.(3)Ifpartofaboundaryofaspecialeventsiteforthespecialevent
is a street, that part of the boundary runs along the outerside
of the street.(4)Subsection (5) applies if—(a)part of a boundary of a special event
site runs along theouter side of a street; and(b)the next part of the boundary runs
along the outer side ofanother street that intersects with
the street.(5)Both parts of the boundary continue in
a direct line until theparts intersect.(6)If
part of a barricade, fence or wall lies on a boundary of aspecial event site for the special event,
the area on which thebarricade, fence or wall is situated
is included in the specialevent site.(7)In
this section—outerside,ofastreet,meansthesidewhichifusedasaboundary would give a greater area of
the special event sitethan the inner side of the
street.

parade, terrace, drive or way.11Period of special eventTheperiodforwhichthespecialeventdeclarationundersection9isinforcestartson29July2007andendsatmidnight on 3 August 2007.12Where authorised persons may exercise
powers forspecial eventDuring the
special event, an authorised person may exercisepowerstheauthorisedpersonhasunderchapter19,part2,division5oftheActataspecialeventsiteforthespecialevent.Note—Under thePolicePowersandResponsibilitiesAct2000, section 563(Appointment of
authorised persons), an authorised person may exercisea
power in division 5 only if the person’s instrument of
appointmentstates the person may exercise the
power.13Prohibited itemsEach item
mentioned in schedule 3 is a prohibited item.Note—Under thePolicePowersandResponsibilitiesAct2000, section 574(Prohibiteditems),takingaprohibiteditemonto,orpossessingaprohibited item on, a special event site
