commences on 1 January 2007.3Macropods to which notice appliesThis
notice applies to the following species (each aharvestmacropod)—(a)eastern grey kangaroo (Macropusgiganteus);(b)red kangaroo
(Macropusrufus);(c)wallaroo (Macropusrobustus);(d)whiptail wallaby
(Macropusparryi).4DefinitionsIn this
notice—additionalweight,foreachprescribedpartofaharvestmacropod, means the additional weight stated
in schedule 1,column 2 opposite the prescribed part of the
harvest macropodappearing in schedule 1, column 1.conservationplanmeanstheNatureConservation(Macropod)ConservationPlan2005.dress, a
harvest macropod—(a)means—

harvest macropod; or(ii)to remove the head, paws, tail or an
internal organof the harvest macropod; and(b)does not include to process the
harvest macropod.estimatedpopulationsize,foraharvestmacropod,forarelevantregionfortheharvestmacropod,meansthepopulationsizeestimatedbythechiefexecutivefortheharvest macropod
for the relevant region for 2007.fullydressed,inrelationtoaharvestmacropod,meansaharvest macropod with all of the following
parts removed—(a)the head;(b)the
viscera;(c)each of the forelimbs, from the elbow
joint;(d)the foot of 1 hind limb, from a point
below the tarsaljoint;(e)thehindlimb,otherthanthehindlimbmentionedinparagraph (d), from a point on the tibia
midway betweenthe knee and ankle joints;(f)the tail, not more than 160mm from a
point where theundersideofthetailjoinsthebodyintheexternalurogenital
area.harvest macropodsee section
3.prescribedpart,ofaharvestmacropod,meanspartoftheharvest macropod
stated in schedule 1, column 1.relevant
region, for a harvest macropod, means each
regionmentionedanddescribedinschedule2fortheharvestmacropod.viscerameansallofthecontentsoftheabdominalandthoracic cavities.‘5General harvest period for harvest
macropods(1)Aharvestperiodforaharvestmacropodstarts,foreachrelevant region for the harvest
macropod, on 1 January 2007and ends at the end of—

executive has published a notice stating thechiefexecutiveissatisfiedtherelevantmaximumamount for the harvest macropod for the
relevant regionwill have been taken by a particular day—the
particularday; or(b)otherwise—31 December 2007.(2)A notice mentioned in subsection
(1)(a) must be published—(a)inanewspapercirculatinggenerallythroughouttheState; and(b)on or
before the day the harvest period ends.1(3)If the chief executive publishes, or
intends to publish, a noticementionedinsubsection(1)(a)foraharvestmacropod,thechiefexecutivemustalsogiveeachholderofamacropodharvesting
licence for the harvest macropod a written noticestating—(a)thechiefexecutiveissatisfiedtherelevantmaximumamount for the harvest macropod for a
relevant regionwill have been taken by a particular day;
and(b)theharvestperiodfortheharvestmacropodfortherelevant region
ends at the end of that day.(4)Thechiefexecutivemustgivethenoticementionedinsubsection (3) at least 7 days before
the day the harvest periodends.(5)In
this section—macropod harvesting licencemeans—(a)a
commercial wildlife harvesting licence for macropods;or(b)a recreational
wildlife harvesting licence for macropods.relevant maximum
amountmeans—(a)for
an eastern grey kangaroo—1A copy of a
notice published under this section may be inspected on the
agency’swebsite.Atthecommencementofthissection,theagency’swebsitewas<www.epa.qld.gov.au>.

region for the kangaroo—14.9% ofthe estimated
population size for the kangaroo forthe region for
the year; or(ii)fortheeasternregionforthekangaroo—10%ofthe
estimated population size for the kangaroo forthe region for
the year; or(iii)for the western
region for the kangaroo—there willbe no take in
that region; or(b)for a red kangaroo—(i)for the central region for the
kangaroo—18.6% ofthe estimated population size for the
kangaroo forthe region for the year; or(ii)fortheeasternregionforthekangaroo—10%ofthe
estimated population size for the kangaroo forthe region for
the year; or(iii)for the western
region for the kangaroo—10% ofthe estimated
population size for the kangaroo forthe region for
the year; or(c)for a wallaroo—(i)for
the central region for the wallaroo—14.9% ofthe estimated
population size for the wallaroo forthe region for
the year; or(ii)for the eastern region for the
wallaroo—10% of therelevant estimated population size for the
wallaroofor the region for the year; or(iii)forthewesternregionforthewallaroo—10%ofthe
estimated population size for the wallaroo forthe region for
the year; or(d)forawhiptailwallabyforbothregionsforthewallaby—1%oftheestimatedpopulationsizeforthewallaby for the
regions for the year.

harvest periods(1)Further harvest periods for the
following harvest macropodsstart on 24 December 2007 and end at
the end of 31 December2007—(a)easterngreykangaroos,fortheircentralregionunderschedule 2, part 1;(b)wallaroos, for their central region under
schedule 2, part3.(2)Subsection (1)
applies despite the ending of the harvest periodfortheharvestmacropodsundersection5(1)before24December 2007.6Minimum area for skin of harvest macropod
taken forskin onlyFor section 12(2)
of the conservation plan, the minimum areafor the skin of a
harvest macropod taken for its skin only is—(a)for a
whiptail wallaby—0.32m2; or(b)for another harvest
macropod—0.37m2.7Minimum weights for carcass of harvest
macropodstaken for meat only or meat and skin(1)For section 13(2) of the conservation
plan, this section statestheminimumweightforthecarcassofaharvestmacropodtaken
for its meat only or for both its meat and skin.(2)If the harvest macropod is a whiptail
wallaby—(a)the minimum whole weight is 11kg;
and(b)the minimum dressed weight is—(i)if the whiptail wallaby is fully
dressed—8kg; or(ii)otherwise—8kg plus the additional
weight for eachprescribed part of the harvest macropod that
is in,on or attached to the harvest
macropod.(3)If the harvest macropod is a harvest
macropod other than awhiptail wallaby—

weight is 20kg; and(b)the minimum dressed weight is—(i)if the harvest macropod is fully

278 is repealed.9ExpiryThis notice
