s1 3 Plant Protection ( Mango Leaf Gall Midge) Quarantine Notice 2006 Plant Protection (Mango Leaf Gall Midge) Quarantine Notice 2006 [reprinted as in force on 5 December 2006] s3 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Plant Protection (Mango Leaf Gall Midge) Quarantine Notice 2006 . Note — Under section 11(9) of the Act, this notice remains in force until whichever of the following first happens— (a) the commencement of a regulation under section 11(1) of the Act in relation to the same matter; or (b) the end of 3 months. 2 Definitions In this notice— host plant means a mango plant or a part of a mango plant, including, for example, the fruit of a mango plant. mango leaf gall midge means the pest, mango leaf gall midge Procontarinia spp., declared under the Plant Protection (Mango Leaf Gall Midge) Notice 2006 . pest quarantine area means a pest quarantine area declared under section 3. 3 Declaration of pest quarantine areas Each of the following areas is declared to be a pest quarantine area for mango leaf gall midge— (a) Darnley Island; (b) Murray Island; (c) Stephen Island.

s4 4 Plant Protection ( Mango Leaf Gall Midge) Quarantine Notice 2006 s5 4 Object of quarantine The object of the quarantine for a pest quarantine area is to prevent mango leaf gall midge being brought out of the pest quarantine area. 5 Restrictions on movement out of pest quarantine area A person must not, without an inspector’s approval, move a mango leaf gall midge, or a host plant, out of a pest quarantine area.
