s1 3 s3 Police Powers and Responsibilites (Gold Coast Lexmark Indy 300) Regulation 2006 Police Powers and Responsibilities (Gold Coast Lexmark Indy 300) Regulation 2006 [reprinted as in force on 13 October 2006] 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Police Powers and Responsibilities (Gold Coast Lexmark Indy 300) Regulation 2006 . 2 2006 Lexmark Indy 300 is a special event The event known as ‘2006 Lexmark Indy 300’ being held at the Gold Coast from 19 October to 22 October 2006 is a special event for the Act, chapter 19, part 2. 1 3 Special event site (1) The special event site for the 2006 Lexmark Indy 300 is— (a) the Gold Coast Highway, Southport, from its intersection with Ada Bell Way to its intersection with Waterways Drive, Main Beach; and (b) the land at Main Beach and Surfers Paradise within the following boundaries— (i) the northern alignment of Waterways Drive and Macarthur Parade to the intersection with Seaworld Drive; (ii) a direct line from the intersection mentioned in subparagraph (i) to low water mark on Main Beach; (iii) the low water mark from the point mentioned in subparagraph (ii) to a point directly opposite the southern alignment of Elkhorn Avenue; 1 Act, chapter 19 (Other powers), part 2 (Preserving safety for special events)
s4 4 s7 Police Powers and Responsibilites (Gold Coast Lexmark Indy 300) Regulation 2006 (iv) a direct line from the point mentioned in subparagraph (iii) to the intersection of the Esplanade and Elkhorn Avenue; (v) the southern alignment of Elkhorn Avenue from the point mentioned in subparagraph (iv) to the western side of its intersection with the Gold Coast Highway and Thomas Drive; (vi) the western alignment of the Gold Coast Highway from the point mentioned in subparagraph (v) to its intersection with the northern alignment of Waterways Drive. (2) However, land that is not a public place is not part of the special event site. 4 Period of special event The period for which the event is a special event starts on 18 October and ends at midnight on 23 October 2006. 5 Where authorised persons may exercise powers for special event During the special event, an authorised person may exercise powers the authorised person has under the Act, chapter 19, part 2, division 5 2 at the special event site. 6 Prohibited items Each item in the schedule is a prohibited item. 3 7 Expiry This regulation expires on 24 October 2006. 2 Act, chapter 19 (Other powers), part 2 (Preserving safety for special events), division 5 (Powers for special event sites) 3 Under the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 574 (Prohibited items) taking a prohibited item onto, or possessing a prohibited item on, a special event site without a reasonable excuse is an offence.

Examples animal manure, paint, spear, sword 2 Any of the following under the Weapons Categories Regulation 1997 a category A, B, C, D, E, H, M or R weapon a restricted item. 3 The following items— an antique firearm within the meaning of the Weapons Act 1990 a captive bolt humane killer a crossbow an explosive tool a knife within the meaning of the Weapons Act 1990 , section 51 4 a longbow a major component part of a firearm within the meaning of the Weapons Act 1990 a shanghai within the meaning of the Weapons Act 1990 a slingshot within the meaning of the Weapons Act 1990 a spear gun a replica of a crossbow, longbow or spear gun. 4 A graffiti instrument under the Summary Offences Act 2005 . 4 Weapons Act 1990 , section 51 (Possession of a knife in a public place or a school)
6 Police Powers and Responsibilites (2006 Lexmark Indy 300) Regulation 2006 Schedule (continued) 5 An item, including a device known as a ‘dragon’, capable of— (a) attaching a person to an object or another person; or (b) preventing removal of any locking or connecting device. 6 Any of the following things capable of being used to cause harm to a person or to disrupt the 2006 Lexmark Indy 300— an explosive Examples fireworks, flares glass bottles or jars metal cans or tins projectiles Examples stones or rocks, metal nuts, bolts, marbles, ball bearings a smoke bomb a thing capable of disguising or concealing the identity of a person a thing capable of being used to climb barriers a thing capable of being used to construct a stage, platform, tripod or tower or a structure similar to a stage, platform, tripod or tower.
