etc.(1)This section and schedule 1 declare
the following informationabout each local government mentioned
in schedule 1—(a)its class;(b)its
area and any divisions of the area;(c)the
assignment of councillors to each division;(d)its
composition.(2)A local government’s area, and any
divisions of the area, areshown on its area map under schedule
1.(3)Each area map is identified by a map
number marked on themap.

external boundaries of the local government area of theCity
of Brisbane are shown on map LGB1 edition 6, sheets 1to

5 to 30.(4)For each ward, the boundaries are

local governments6Declaration of joint local government
area—Act, s 42The part of the State consisting of the
local government areasmentioned in section 2 of a part of
schedule 3 is declared to bea joint local
government area.7Establishment, operation, jurisdiction
and membershipof joint local government—Act, ss 43–45 and
48(1)Ajointlocalgovernmentisestablishedforeachjointlocalgovernment area.(2)The
joint local government has the name stated for the jointlocal
government in section 1 of a part of schedule 3.(3)The number of representatives to which
each component localgovernment is entitled on the joint local
government is statedin section 3 of the part of the
schedule.(4)The joint local government has the
jurisdiction stated for thejoint local government in section 4 of
the part of the schedule.(5)An additional
section of the part of the schedule has effect forsection 44 of the Act.(6)In
this section—additional sectionmeans a section
other than sections 1 to 4.Part 4Repeal8Repeal of Local Government (Areas)

consumers inside or outside the area; and(e)toprovide,maintain,protectandoperaterecreationalfacilitiesatthewatersupplyheadworksandonanyother
land owned by, or under the control of, the jointlocal
government.5President(1)The
members of the joint local government are to elect 1 ofthem
as president of the joint local government.(2)An
election for president must take place at the first meetingof
the joint local government held after the conclusion of eachquadrennialelectionforthecouncillorsofCaloundraCityCouncil and Maroochy Shire Council.(3)Thepresidencymustalternatebetweenamemberwhoisacouncillor of
Caloundra City Council and a member who is acouncillor of
Maroochy Shire Council.(4)However,
subsection (3) does not apply if at least 5 membersof
the joint local government vote against it.
