months before the proposed commencement day for thecourse stated in the application.4Prescribed periods for inquiries into

section 83(2) of the Act, the prescribed period for giving anotice requiring further information or a

Accreditation of nursing courses[s 5]anapplicationforaccreditationofanursingcourseis100days after the
council receives the application.(2)For
section 83(3) of the Act, the prescribed period is 14 days.5Prescribed period for deciding
application foraccreditation—Act, s 83B(1)For
section 83B of the Act, the prescribed period for decidinganapplicationforaccreditationofanursingcourseis100days after the
council receives the application.(2)However, if the council has given a notice
under section 83(2)oftheActrequiringfurtherinformationoradocumenttodecide the application, the prescribed
period is 100 days afterthe council receives the further
information or document.6Prescribed period
for deciding application for approval ofvariation—Act, s
83J(1)For section 83J of the Act, the
prescribed period for decidinganapplicationforapprovalofavariationofanaccreditednursingcourseis100daysafterthecouncilreceivestheapplication.(2)However,ifthecouncilhasgivenanoticeundersection83H(2) of the Act
requiring further information or a documenttodecidetheapplication,theprescribedperiodis100daysafter
the council receives the further information or document.7Prescribed day for application for
renewal ofaccreditation—Act, s 83LForsection83L(2)(c)oftheAct,theprescribeddayforanapplication for
the renewal of the accreditation of a nursingcourse is the day
that is 7 months before the end of the periodof accreditation

information or a document todecideanapplicationforrenewaloftheaccreditationofanursingcourseis100daysafterthecouncilreceivestheapplication.(2)Forsection83M(3)oftheAct,theprescribedperiodis14days.9Prescribed period for deciding
application for renewal ofaccreditation—Act, s 83P(1)For section 83P of the Act, the
prescribed period for decidingan application
for the renewal of the accreditation of a nursingcourse is 100 days after the council
receives the application.(2)However,ifthecouncilhasgivenanoticeundersection83M(2)oftheActrequiringfurtherinformationoradocument to decide the application,
the prescribed period is100 days after the council receives
the further information ordocument.10Show

waive, wholly or partly, the payment of a feeby a person if
the council is satisfied on reasonable groundsthatpaymentofthefeewouldcause,orwouldbelikelytocause, the person to suffer undue financial
hardship.13Application for authorisation to
practise(1)A person may apply to the council to
be authorised to practisemidwifery, mental health nursing or
nursing in another area ofnursing.(2)The
application must be—(a)in the approved form; and(b)accompaniedbytheapplicationfeestatedintheschedule,unlessthepersonisalsoapplyingforregistration, enrolment or temporary
registration.(3)Subsection (4) applies if the
person—(a)is applying for authorisation to
practise midwifery; and(b)is not—(i)a nurse; or(ii)alsoapplyingforregistration,enrolmentortemporary registration.(4)The application must be accompanied by
the annual licencecertificate fee payable under section 74(1)
of the Act.(5)If an application mentioned in
subsection (4) is refused, thecouncil must
immediately refund the annual licence certificatefee.14Payment period

certificate is the period starting on 1 April andending on 30 June.15Badges(1)A
badge issued to a person under section 61(1)(c) or 73(b) ofthe
Act must—(a)state the words ‘Queensland Nursing
Council’; and(b)showwhetherthepersonisaregisterednurseoranenrolled
nurse.(2)Ifabadgeissuedtoapersonislost,stolen,destroyedordamaged in a way to require its replacement,
the person mustgive the council a written notice as soon as
practicable afterbecomingawarethatthebadgeislost,stolen,destroyedordamaged.Maximum penalty—1
penalty unit.(3)The council must issue the person with
a replacement badgeon payment of the fee for replacing the
