titleThis regulation may be cited as thePolice Powers and Responsibilities(Australian Rugby Union Test—Wallabies v
England) Regulation 2004.2‘Australian Rugby Union Test—Wallabies v
England’ is a specialeventA rugby match
between Australia and England being held on 26 June2004
and known as ‘Australian Rugby Union Test—Wallabies v
England’is a special event for the Act, chapter 9,
part 2.13Special event
site(1)A special event site for the match is
the area comprised of—(a)Suncorp Stadium,
Castlemaine Street, Milton; and(b)Caxton Street, Castlemaine Street, Hale
Street and Milton Road,Milton to the extent the streets
adjoin the perimeter of SuncorpStadium;
and(c)Chippendall Street, Milton.(2)The site includes any facilities
associated with the site.(3)In this
section—“facilities”includes—(a)pedestrian and vehicular entrances and
exits; and1Act, chapter 9 (Other powers), part 2

period for which the event is a special event starts on 25 June
2004and ends at midnight on 27 June 2004.5Where authorised persons may exercise
powers for special eventDuring the special event, an
authorised person may exercise powers theauthorisedpersonhasunderthe Act,chapter9,part2,division52ataspecial event site.6Prohibited itemsEach item in the
schedule is a prohibited item.37ExpiryThis regulation
expires on 28 June 2004.2Act,chapter9(Otherpowers),part2(Preservingsafetyforspecialevents),division 5 (Powers for special event sites).
An authorised person may exercise apower in division
5 only if the person’s instrument of appointment states the
personmay exercise the power.3Under
thePolice Powers and Responsibilities Act
2000, section 356 (Prohibiteditems) taking a prohibited item onto, or
possessing a prohibited item on, a specialevent site
without a reasonable excuse is an offence.
