northern regionsA harvest period for ducks for the areas of
the local governments statedin schedule 1,
part 1, starts on 26 June 2004 and ends on 19 September2004.4Harvest period for ducks—southern
regionA harvest period for ducks for the areas of
the local governments statedin schedule 1,
part 2, starts on 29 May 2004 and ends on 22 August
2004.

taking or possessing ducks(1)A person must
not—(a)take a duck if—(i)the
duck is not in flight; or(ii)the person is in
a moving boat; or(b)take more than 12 ducks in a period of
24 hours; or(c)possessataplace,otherthantheperson’susualplaceofresidence, more than 30 ducks.(2)Also, a person must not take a duck by
using a shot other than anapproved non-toxic shot.1(3)In this
section—“approved non-toxic shot”means any of the
following—(a)a bismuth-tin shot;(b)a steel shot;(c)a
tungsten-iron-nickel-tin shot;(d)a
tungsten-iron shot;(e)a tungsten-matrix shot;(f)a tungsten-nickel-iron shot;(g)a tungsten-polymer shot.PART
3—HARVEST PERIOD FOR QUAILS6Harvest period
for quailsA harvest period for quails for the areas of
the local governments statedin schedule 2
starts on 8 May 2004 and ends on 1 August 2004.1SeealsotheNatureConservation(DuckandQuail)ConservationPlan1995,section 7 (Way
duck or quail must be harvested).

taking or possessing quailsA person must not—(a)take
more than 25 quails in a period of 24 hours; or(b)possessataplace,otherthantheperson’susualplaceofresidence, more than 60 quails.2PART 4—EXPIRY OF NOTICE8ExpiryThis notice
expires on 20 September 2004.2SeealsotheNatureConservation(DuckandQuail)ConservationPlan1995,section 7 (Way
duck or quail must be harvested).
