period”means the harvest period declared under

plantsA harvest period for all protected plants
starts on 1 April 2004 and endson 31 March
2005.

HarvestPeriod) Notice 20045Limitation on application of harvest
period(1)The harvest period does not apply to
any of the following unless it isthe subject of an
approved commercial or recreational taking—(a)a
whole protected plant of the genusMicrosorum;(b)a protected plant part for a plant of
the genusMicrosorum.(2)In this section—“approved
commercial taking”means—(a)for a
whole protected plant of the genusMicrosorum—taking theplant, under a commercial wildlife
harvesting licence—(i)as a stock plant; or(ii)under salvage; or(iii)for a
bioprospecting activity; or(b)foraprotectedplantpartforaplantofthegenusMicrosorum—taking the plant
part, under a commercial wildlifeharvesting
licence—(i)under salvage; or(ii)for a
bioprospecting activity.“approved recreational taking”, in
relation to a whole protected plant ofthegenusMicrosorum,oraprotectedplantpartforaplantofthegenusMicrosorum,meanstakingtheplant,orplantpart,undersalvage under a
recreational wildlife harvesting licence.6Condition on commercial taking of particular
protected plants(1)The maximum number of whole protected
plants of the followinggenera that may be taken during the
harvest period under all commercialwildlife
harvesting licences is as follows—(a)for
protected plants of the genusCycas—68;(b)for protected
plants of the genusLepidozamia—113;(c)for protected plants of the
genusMacrozamia—2 550;(d)for protected plants of the
genusXanthorrhoea—27

portion of the maximum number mentioned in subsection (1)that
may be taken under a particular commercial wildlife harvesting
licenceis the number stated on the licence.1(3)Subsection (1)
does not apply to taking whole protected plants—(a)as stock plants; or(b)under salvage; or(c)for a
