s1 3 s2 Local Government (Implementation of Reviewable Local Government Matters) Regulation 2003 Local Government (Implementation of Reviewable Local Government Matters) Regulation 2003 [as amended by all amendments that commenced on or before 5 December 2003] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Local Government (Implementation of Reviewable Local Government Matters) Regulation 2003 . 2 Purposes (1) The purposes of this regulation are— (a) to implement reviewable local government matters recommended in electoral and boundaries review commission reports; 1 and (b) to facilitate the implementation of the reviewable local government matters. (2) This regulation implements reviewable local government matters involving, for each local government mentioned in this regulation, 1 or more of the following— (a) divisional arrangements; (b) composition; (c) assignment of councillors to divisions. 1 Each report identified in this regulation may be inspected at the office of the Electoral Commission of Queensland at 160 Mary Street, Brisbane and the public office of the local government to which the report relates.
s3 4 s5 Local Government (Implementation of Reviewable Local Government Matters) Regulation 2003 3 When implementation takes effect (1) Each reviewable local government matter mentioned in part 2 for a local government takes effect— (a) for the purposes of the 2004 quadrennial elections for the mayor and councillors of the local government—on the commencing day; and (b) for any other purpose—on the concluding day for the local government. (2) In this section— commencing day means the day this section commences. concluding day , for a local government, means the conclusion of the 2004 quadrennial elections for the mayor and councillors of the local government. 4 References to maps In this regulation, a reference to a map is a reference to a map held by, and available for inspection at, the following— (a) the department; 2 (b) the public office of the local government to which the map relates. Part 2 Implementation of reviewable local government matters 5 Barcoo shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Barcoo Shire Council, Final determination’. 2 Each map may be inspected at the department’s office at 41 George Street, Brisbane.

(3) The area of the undivided shire is shown on map number LGB10 edition 2. (4) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors. 6 Beaudesert shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of divisional boundaries, Beaudesert Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The Beaudesert shire is divided into 8 divisions as shown on map number LGB12 edition 4. (3) The local government for the shire consists of a mayor and 8 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division. 7 Bundaberg city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of June 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Bundaberg City Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the city consists of 9 councillors. 8 Burnett shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of June 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Burnett Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the shire consists of 9 councillors. 9 Caloundra city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review

(2) The Caloundra city is divided into 10 divisions as shown on map number LGB30 edition 4. (3) The local government for the city consists of a mayor and 10 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division. 10 Gatton shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Gatton Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The Gatton shire is divided into 3 divisions as shown on map number LGB54 edition 4. (3) The local government for the shire consists of a mayor and 8 other councillors. (4) The number of councillors assigned to each division are as follows— (a) division 1—4; (b) division 2—2; (c) division 3—2. 11 Gayndah shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Gayndah Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors.
s 12 7 s 15 Local Government (Implementation of Reviewable Local Government Matters) Regulation 2003 12 Gold Coast city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of divisional boundaries, Gold Coast City Council, Final determination’. (2) The Gold Coast city is divided into 14 divisions as shown on map number LGB58 edition 7. (3) The local government for the city consists of a mayor and 14 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division. 13 Hervey Bay city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Hervey Bay City Council, Final determination’. (2) The divisions of the Hervey Bay city are abolished. (3) The area of the undivided shire is shown on map number LGB62 edition 4. (4) The local government for the city consists of 8 councillors. 14 Isis shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Isis Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors. 17 Kolan shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Kolan Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors. 18 Mackay city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Mackay City Council, Final determination’. (2) The Mackay city is divided into 9 divisions as shown on map number LGB80 edition 5. (3) The local government for the city consists of a mayor and 10 other councillors. (4) The number of councillors assigned to each division are as follows— (a) divisions 1 to 8—1; (b) division 9—2.

(2) The divisions of the Maryborough city are abolished. (3) The area of the undivided shire is shown on map number LGB83 edition 4. (4) The local government for the city consists of 9 councillors. 20 Mount Morgan shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of June 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Mount Morgan Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors. 21 Murgon shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Murgon Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The divisions of the Murgon shire are abolished. (3) The area of the undivided shire is shown on map number LGB95 edition 2. (4) The local government for the shire consists of 7 councillors. 22 Murilla shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition, Murilla Shire Council, Final determination’.

(3) The number of councillors assigned to each division of Murilla shire are as follows— (a) division 1—3; (b) division 2—2; (c) division 3—2. 23 Pine Rivers shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of divisional boundaries, Pine Rivers Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The Pine Rivers shire is divided into 10 divisions as shown on map number LGB104 edition 5. (3) The local government for the shire consists of a mayor and 10 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division. 24 Pittsworth shire (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of composition and divisional boundaries, Pittsworth Shire Council, Final determination’. (2) The divisions of the Pittsworth shire are abolished. (3) The area of the undivided shire is shown on map number LGB106 edition 2. (2) The Redland shire is divided into 10 divisions as shown on map number LGB109 edition 4. (3) The local government for the city consists of a mayor and 10 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division. 27 Townsville city (1) This section implements the reviewable local government matters recommended in the electoral and boundaries review commission report of July 2003 called ‘Review of divisional boundaries, Townsville City Council, Final determination’. (2) The Townsville city is divided into 10 divisions as shown on map number LGB124 edition 5. (3) The local government for the city consists of a mayor and 10 other councillors. (4) One councillor is assigned to each division.
