plan (thesubject plan) must—(a)be in the approved form for the
subject plan; andCurrent as at 20 September 2010Page

sheet size A3; and(ii)of a density at
least 130gm to a square metre; and(c)be
numbered as required by a direction of the registrarabouttherequiredformatforaplanofsubdivision,mentionedintheLandTitlesAct1994,section50(i),that
is relevant to the subject plan.(2)An
alteration on a plan may only be made by—(a)striking through the printing or writing
intended to bealteredsothattheoriginalprintingorwritingisstilllegible;
and(b)havingeachofthefollowingpersonsinitialthealteration—(i)the
licensed surveyor who prepared the plan;(ii)ifthealterationaffectsaboundaryofland—theappropriate
authority and the registered proprietorof the freehold
estate in the land.5Plan must be accompanied by an
application for approvalA plan given to an appropriate
authority for approval must beaccompanied by
an application for approval in the approvedform.6Defining a stratum lot(1)A stratum lot must be defined by
regular planes, that may behorizontal or
inclined, fixed by reference to levels in relationto
Australian height datum.(2)If a stratum lot
is defined by an inclined plane, elevations orsectionsmustbeshown,identifyingtheplanewithenoughinformation to

include(1)This section applies to a plan other
than an easement plan or aplanforthesubdivisionoramalgamationoflandundersection 25(4) of the Act.(2)The plan must include each of the
following—(a)a certificate by the licensed surveyor
who prepared theplan;(b)a
certificate by the registered proprietor of the freeholdestate in the land the subject of the
plan;(c)an approval by the appropriate
authority;(d)if the plan is required under division
2 to include anotherthing—the other thing.(3)Thecertificatesandapprovalmentionedinsubsection(1)must
be in the approved form.8Signing
plansA plan required to be signed by an
appropriate authority mustbe signed—(a)iftheappropriateauthorityisthecorporation—bythecorporation manager; or(b)if
the appropriate authority is the council—by the townclerk.9Registrar to record particulars of
plansTheregistrarmustrecord,inthefreeholdlandregister,particulars of
each plan that is required to be registered underthe
Act.10Plan numbersThe registrar
must allot a number to a plan on registration ofthe

lessees andregistered mortgageesThe registrar
must not register a plan unless it is accompaniedby a
consent in the approved form, given by—(a)iftheplanaffectscommonpropertycomprisedinaleasehold
building units plan—the body corporate of theleasehold
building units plan; or(b)if the plan
affects any other land—the registered lessee,and any
registered mortgagee, of the leasehold estate inthe
affected land.Division 2Additional
requirements for certainplans12Stratum planA stratum plan
must include 1 or more sheets that show—(a)theboundariesofthelandbeingsubdividedbythestratum plan; and(b)the
precise dimensions and location of—(i)the
stratum lots to be created by registration of thestratum plan; and(ii)roads to be dedicated to public use.13Boundary adjustment planA
boundary adjustment plan must include 1 or more sheetsthatshowtheprecisedimensionsandlocationoftheboundaries of the redefined lots in
the plan.14Stratum plan of subdivisionA
stratum plan of subdivision must include 1 or more sheetsthat

the stratum lotsbeing created; and(b)the
boundaries of the stratum lot being subdivided.15Stratum plan of amalgamation(1)Astratumplanofamalgamationmustinclude1ormoresheets that
show—(a)theprecisedimensionsandlocationofthestratumlotbeing created; and(b)the
boundaries of the stratum lots being amalgamated.(2)The registrar must not register a
stratum plan of amalgamationthatamalgamatesallthelotsinastratumplanunlessthestratum plan of amalgamation is accompanied
by a request toterminate the management statement for the
stratum plan.16Easement planAn easement plan
must—(a)include a statement of intention to
create the easementsshown in the plan; and(b)otherwise be prepared, registered and
dealt with undertheLandTitleAct1994, part 6,

discolouration and blemishes; and(c)comply with the following
requirements—(i)haveclearmarginsnosmallerthan10mmonallsides;(ii)have
a clear space no smaller than 90mm wide and65mm deep at the
top right-hand corner of the formfor a duty
imprint;(iii)be completed on
1 side only, either—(A)printed with
type size no smaller than 1.8mm(10 point);
or(B)in a way that is permanent and that
can bephotocopiedtoproduceacopysatisfactoryto the

19](iv)haveallpagesoftheinstrumentandallattachmentssecurelyboundtogetherinawayapproved by the registrar.(2)An alteration on an instrument may

and(b)havingeachpartytotheinstrumentandeachwitnessinitial the alteration to the
instrument.19Signing instrumentsAninstrumentrequiredtobesignedbyanappropriateauthority must
