taken to have commenced on 1 April 2002.3DefinitionsIn this
notice—“bioprospecting activity”see theNature Conservation (Protected

3.“salvage”seetheNatureConservation(ProtectedPlants)ConservationPlan 2000,

schedule 14.4Harvest period for protected
plantsA harvest period for all protected plants
starts on 1 April 2002 and endson 31 March
2003.5Conditions on taking particular whole
protected plants(1)This section applies to protected
plants of the following genera—(a)Xanthorrhoea;(b)Cycas;

HarvestPeriod) Notice 2002(c)Lepidozamia;(d)Macrozamia.(2)The maximum number of whole protected
plants that may be takenunder a commercial wildlife harvesting
licence is—(a)for plants of the genusXanthorrhoea—18 200;
or(b)for plants of the genusCycas—90; or(c)for plants of the genusLepidozamia—150; or(d)for plants of the genusMacrozamia—1 680.(3)For subsection (2), the number of
plants taken under a commercialwildlife
harvesting licence does not include a plant that is taken—(a)as a stock plant; or(b)under salvage; or(c)for
a bioprospecting activity.6RepealTheNature Conservation (Protected Plants
Harvest Period) Notice 2001is
repealed.7ExpiryThis notice
expires on 1 April 2003.
