commences on 1 January 2002.3DefinitionsIn this
notice—“animal food”meansasubstanceordinarilyconsumed,orintendedforconsumption, by animals.“human
food”meansasubstanceordinarilyconsumed,orintendedforconsumption, by humans.4Prescribed size and weight of
macropodFor this notice, a macropod is—(a)the prescribed size if it has a skin
size of at least 0.37 m2; and(b)the prescribed weight if—(i)for a macropod taken for animal
food—its carcass weighs atleast 13 kg; or(ii)for
a macropod taken for human food—its carcass weighs atleast 15 kg.5Harvest period for certain macropods(1)This section applies to the following
macropods—
s64s7Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest
Period)Notice 2001(a)an
eastern grey kangaroo (Macropus giganteus);(b)a red kangaroo (Macropus
rufus);(c)a wallaroo
(Macropus robustus).(2)A harvest period for the macropods
starts on 1 January 2002 and endson 31 December
2002.(3)The harvest period applies only in the
areas of the local governmentsstated for the
macropods in the schedule.(4)A macropod taken
for its skin only must be the prescribed size.(5)Amacropodtakenforbothitscarcassandskinmustbetheprescribed
weight.6Harvest period for whiptail
wallaby(1)This section applies to the whiptail
wallaby (Macropus parryi).(2)A harvest period for the whiptail
wallaby starts on 1 January 2002and ends on 31
December 2002.(3)The harvest period applies only in the
areas of the local governmentsstated for the
