title1.This regulation may be cited as
thePlant Protection (Asparagus Rust)Quarantine Regulation 2000.˙Definitions2.In this regulation—“asparagus rust”means the pest
asparagus rust (Puccinia asparagiDC).“pest
quarantine area”see section 3.“restricted
plant”means the following plant species—(a)Allium cepaL;(b)Asparagus maritimus;(c)Asparagus
plumosus;(d)Asparagus
scaber;(e)Asparagus
setaceus;(f)Asparagus
verticillatus.

Regulation 2000†PART 2—PEST QUARANTINE AREA˙Declaration of pest quarantine
area3.The area within 3 km of lot 183 on
plan CA3115, Parish of England,County of
Cavendish (the“pest quarantine area”), is declared
to be a pestquarantine area for section 11(1) of the
Act.1˙Objects of
quarantine4.The objects of the quarantine for the
pest quarantine area are to—(a)prevent the spread of asparagus rust in the
State; and(b)prevent, control or remove asparagus
rust in the pest quarantinearea.†PART 3—PEST CONTROL MEASURES˙Restrictions on movement of restricted
plant5.A person must not, without an
inspector’s approval, move a restrictedplant—(a)from a parcel of land in the pest
quarantine area to another parcelof land in the
area; or(b)out of the pest quarantine
area.1Mapsofthequarantineareaareavailableforinspectionduringofficehoursonbusiness days at the
department’s—(a)head office at 80 Ann Street,
Brisbane; and(b)regional offices at—(i)Turner Street, Helidon;(ii)Cnr Limestone and East Streets,
Ipswich;(iii)the Court House
Building, Gardner Street, Toogoolawah; and(c)Animal Research Institute at Fairfield Road,
Yeerongpilly.

Regulation 2000˙Restriction on moving soil, appliance
or other thing6.(1)A person must
not, without an inspector’s approval, move soil onwhich
a restricted plant has been growing or an appliance or other thing
thathas been in contact with an infested plant or
soil on which an infested planthas been
growing—(a)from a parcel of land in the pest
quarantine area to another parcelof land in the
area; or(b)out of the pest quarantine
area.(2)In this section—“infested
plant”means a restricted plant infested with
asparagus rust.˙Restriction on planting and cultivating
restricted plant7.A person must not, without an
inspector’s approval—(a)plant a
restricted plant in the pest quarantine area; or(b)cultivate a restricted plant in the
pest quarantine area.
