titleThis regulation may be cited as theGovernmentOwnedCorporations(Brisbane Market
Authority Corporatisation) Regulation 1999.2CommencementThis regulation
commences on 13 December 1999.3PurposeThe purpose of
this regulation is—(a)to change BMA’s name; and(b)to declare that BMC is a GOC (a
statutory GOC); and(c)tonominateBMCasacandidateGOCthatistobecomeacompany GOC; and(d)to
declare that BMC is a GOC (a company GOC).4DefinitionsIn this
regulation—“BMA”means the
Brisbane Market Authority.“BMC”means Brisbane
Market Corporation.

1999PART 2—PREPARATORY MATTERS5Change of name of BMABMA’s name is changed to Brisbane Market
Corporation.6Share capitalOn the
commencement of this section, BMC is taken to have a sharecapital of $1 000 000 000 made up of—(a)4 voting (A class) shares of $1.00
each; and(b)999 999 996 non-voting (B class)
shares of $1.00 each.PART 3—BMC BECOMES A STATUTORY
GOC7Declaration of BMC as a GOC(1)Subsection (2) takes effect as soon as
BMC has applied the part of itssharecapitalthatitsresponsibleMinistersdirectinpayingup,infull,shares in
itself.(2)BMC is a GOC.PART 4—NOMINATION
OF BMC AS CANDIDATE GOCTHAT IS TO BECOME A COMPANY GOC8Nomination of BMC(1)Subsection (2) takes effect immediately

1999PART 5—BMC BECOMES A COMPANY GOC9Declaration of BMC as GOC(1)Subsection (2) takes effect as soon as
the following apply—(a)BMC is a
candidate GOC that is to become a company GOC;(b)BMCisapubliccompany,andacompanylimitedbyshares,within the
meaning of the Corporations Law.(2)BMC
is a GOC.(3)As soon as practicable after BMC
becomes a company GOC undersubsection (2),
the shareholding Ministers for the company GOC that BMChasbecomemust,bygazettenotice,advisethedayonwhichtheentitybecameregisteredundertheCorporationsLaw,chapter5B,part5B.1,division 1.11CorporationsLaw,chapter5B(Bodiescorporateregisteredascompanies,andregistrablebodies),part5B.1(Registeringabodycorporateasacompany),division 1
