commences on 18 September 1998.3Central control group member to preside in
absence ofchairperson—Act, s 12Forsection12(3)1oftheAct,thechiefexecutiveisthemembertopresideatallmeetingsandconsultationsamongmembersofthecentralcontrol group in
the chairperson’s absence.4Other members of
disaster district control groups—Act, s 21For section
21(1) of the Act, the members (other than the disaster
districtcoordinator)2for
each disaster district control group are as follows—(a)if—(i)there is 1 local government only in the
disaster district—aperson appointed by the local government;
or(ii)there are 2 or
more local governments in the disaster districtandnoneofthelocalgovernmentscombineforcounterdisasterpurposesundersection263ofthe
Act—aperson appointed by each local government;
or1Section 12 (Central control
group)2The disaster district coordinator is
appointed by the Governor in Council undersection 21(1) of
the Act.3Section 26 (Duties as to
counterdisaster measures)

Counter-Disaster Organisation Regulation 1998(iii)there are 2 or more local governments in the
disaster districtand all the local governments combine for
counterdisasterpurposes under section 26 of the Act—a
person appointedby each combined local government; or(iv)there are 3 or
more local governments in the disaster districtandnotallthelocalgovernmentscombineforcounterdisaster purposes under section
26 of the Act—(A)a person appointed by each local
government that doesnot combine; and(B)apersonappointedbyeachcombinedlocalgovernment;(b)apersonappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheAmbulance Service Act 1991;(c)apersonappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheFamilyServices Act
1987;(d)a person
appointed by the Minister responsible for theFire andRescue Authority Act 1990;(e)apersonappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheHealthAct 1937;(f)apersonappointedbytheMinisterresponsibleforthePoliceService
Administration Act 1990;(g)a
person who has experience in building engineering services
andisappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheQueenslandBuilding
Services Act 1991;(h)apersonwhohasexperienceinelectroniccommunicationservicesandisappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheQueensland Building Services Act
1991;(i)a person who has
experience in supplying emergency goods andservicesandisappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheQueensland Building Services Act
1991;(j)apersonappointedbytheMinisterresponsiblefortheStateCounter-Disaster
Organisation Act 1975;(k)a
person appointed by the Minister responsible for theTransportInfrastructure
Act 1994.
