Queensland that are not in a pestquarantine

area.3(2)The Cairns pest
quarantine area is the area bounded by an imaginaryline
drawn—•from the point where the eastern
boundary of the wet tropics areaintersects the
southern bank of the Barron River•then
south along the boundary of the wet tropics area to the
northbank of Crowleys Creek•then
east along the north bank of Crowleys Creek to the pointwhere it intersects the Bruce Highway•thennorthalongtheBruceHighwaytothepointwhereitintersects Anderson Road•then
along Anderson Road in a generally easterly direction to theend

area north of latitude 13º45' south is declared to be a pest
quarantinearea.Division 2—Pest control
measures7Movement restrictionsA
person must not, without an inspector’s approval—(a)move a spiraling whitefly or a plant
out of a pest quarantine area;or(b)moveaspiralingwhiteflyoraplantinfestedwithspiralingwhitefly from a
parcel of land within a pest quarantine area toanother parcel
of land within the area.48Pest
control measures(1)This section applies if an inspector
is reasonably satisfied land in apest quarantine
area is infested with spiraling whitefly.(2)The
inspector must take the pest control measures on the land that
theinspector considers is reasonably necessary
to eradicate the infestation.(3)If
practicable, the inspector must, before entering the land, notify
theowner or other person occupying the land that
the inspector proposes toenter the land at a stated time to
carry out stated pest control measures.4Under
the Act, section 11(7) (Pest quarantine area), an inspector may,
amongst otherthings, permit an exemption from this
section.

notice was not given before entering the land, the inspector
must,after taking the measures, notify the owner
or occupier of the entry and themeasures.(5)A notice under this section may be
oral or written.(6)In this section—“pest control
measures”includes—(a)releasing the biological control
parasiteEncarsiasp; and(b)another measure described in section
13(1) or (2)5of the Act.9Restriction on selling plantsA
person must not sell a plant in a pest quarantine area that—(a)hasavisiblesymptomshowingthattheplantmaybeinfestedwith spiraling
whitefly; or(b)is infested with spiraling
whitefly.Examples of visible symptoms under paragraph
(a)—•white flocculence
(spiralling trail of insect residue) on the plant’s fruit or
leaves•the presence of the adult, larvae,
nymph or other life stage of spiraling whitefly.5The
