Introduction Prohibition) Regulation 1998.2Control over introduction of
pests—Act, s 8(1)(1)A person must not introduce into
Queensland—(a)bactrocera philippinensis; or(b)a plant infested with bactrocera
philippinensis; or(c)fruit grown in, or despatched from,
the area within 50 km of theplaceintheNorthernTerritory,nearDarwin,situatedatlatitude 12º24'20" south and longitude
130º55'7" east.(2)Subsection (1)(c) does not apply
to—(a)fruit that is of a species and
cultivar approved as a non-host ofbactrocera
philippinensis; or(b)fruit—(i)accompaniedbyacertificateforthefruitissuedbyanapproved person
stating that the fruit has been treated in anapproved way,
including for example, that the fruit has beensorted to meet
an approved non-host condition; and(ii)packed in a container marked with—(A)the words ‘Treated for fruit fly’ or
‘TF/FF’; and(B)the date the fruit was treated;
and(C)the name and postal address of the
person carrying onthe business that treated the fruit.(3)A marking on a container must
be—

clearly legible letters of at least 5 mm high; and(b)indelible; and(c)in a
position on the outside of the container that can be clearlyseen.(4)In
this section—“approved”means approved
by the chief executive or an inspector.“approved
person”means—(a)a
person approved by the chief executive; or(b)aninspectorofthedepartmentofgovernmentoftheNorthernTerritoryresponsibleforadministeringmattersrelatingtoagriculture in the Northern
Territory.“bactroceraphilippinensis”meanstheorganismBactroceraphilippinensisDrew and
Hancock.4RepealThe following
regulations are repealed—(a)PlantProtection(PapayaFruitFly—MtIsa)QuarantineRegulation
1997; and(b)PlantProtection(PapayaFruitFlyIntroductionProhibition)Regulation
1997.
