1997]†PART 1—PRELIMINARY˙Short
title1.This regulation may be cited as
theGovernment Owned Corporations(Queensland Industry Development Corporation)
Regulation 1994.˙Commencement2.The
following provisions commence on 1 October 1994—•Part 3 (Candidate GOC declared to be a
GOC)•Part4(AmendmentofGovernmentOwnedCorporationsRegulation
1993).˙Purpose of this regulation3.(1)The purpose of
this regulation is—(a)to take the preparatory steps
necessary for declaring a candidateGOC,QueenslandIndustryDevelopmentCorporation,tobeaGOC; and(b)to declare the candidate GOC to be a
GOC.(2)ThepurposeofthisregulationextendstomattersabouttheQueensland Industry Development
Corporation after it is declared to be aGOC.

Regulation1994˙Meaning of “QIDC”4.In
this regulation—“QIDC”means Queensland
Industry Development Corporation.s7†PART 2—PREPARATORY MATTERS˙QIDC’s share capital5.On the commencement of this section,
QIDC is taken to have a sharecapital of $500
000 000, made up of 500 000 000 ordinary shares of $1each.1˙Application of s 54A of the Act6.Section 54A (Transfer of assets,
liabilities etc. to government entity tobecome GOC or GOC
subsidiary) of the Act applies to QIDC.˙Chief
executive officer and senior executives7.(1)The
chief executive officer of QIDC continues to hold the office
ofchief executive officer when QIDC becomes a
GOC.(2)A senior executive of QIDC continues
to hold the senior executive’soffice when QIDC
becomes a GOC.1This section provides for QIDC’s
authorised share capital.Under section 58(2)oftheAct,beforeQIDCbecomesaGOC,itmustapplythepartofitscapitalthat the
responsible Ministers direct in paying up, in full, shares in
itself.

GOC8.QIDC is a GOC.†PART
4—AFTER QIDC IS DECLARED A GOC˙QIDC
is to issue further shares9.(1)Undersection5,QIDCistakentohaveasharecapitalof$500 000 000, made up of 500 000 000
ordinary shares of $1 each.(2)Under section 58
of the Act, 80 000 000 of the shares have beenissued.(3)QIDC is to issue a further 40 000 000
of the shares.
