1—PRELIMINARY˙Short title1.ThisregulationmaybecitedastheElectricity(SuperannuationScheme
Determination) Regulation 19933–4.˙Commencement2.This
regulation commences on 1 March 1993.˙Purpose3.Thisregulationsetsoutadetermination,underclause4(2A)ofSchedule5totheAct,whichvariestheexistingandaccruingrights,privileges and liabilities of certain
contributors to the Scheme.˙Definitions4.In
this regulation—“Articles”meanstheArticlesoftheQueenslandElectricitySupplyIndustry Employees’ Superannuation
Scheme;“full-timehours”foraperiodmeansthetotalnumberofhoursthatafull-time employee is employed to work
during the period;“working hours”for a period,
for an employee, means the total number ofhoursthattheemployeewasscheduledtoworkduringtheperiod,other than on
overtime, and whether on a full-time or part-time
basis.

FUNDS˙Application of this Part5.This Part applies in respect of a
member who, under section 18 of theArticles,
contributes to the Scheme in accordance with the trust deed of
asuperannuation fund mentioned in the
Schedule.˙Meaning of “relevant trust deed”6.In this Part—“relevanttrustdeed”foramembermeansthetrustdeedofthesuperannuationfundmentionedintheScheduleunderwhichthemember contributes to the Scheme.˙Determination of benefit under cl.4, 5,
7 or 8(b) of relevant trust deedfor part-time
employees7.(1)This section
applies if—(a)a benefit is payable to a member under
clause 4, 5, 7 or 8(b) ofthe relevant trust deed; and(b)the member was, for a period, a
part-time employee; and(c)the entire
period would, but for this section, be included in themember’s membership period.(2)For the purpose of calculating the
benefit, the following proportion ofthe period is
included in the membership period—WFwhere—“W”is
the number of the member’s working hours for the period;“F”is the number of full-time hours for
the period.

employees8.For the purpose of calculating a
benefit payable to a member under therelevant trust
deed, the member’s salary during any period that the memberis
employed part-time is taken to be the amount that would be the
member’ssalary if the member were employed
full-time.˙Determination of benefit under cl.8(a)
of relevant trust deed forpart-time employees9.(1)This
section applies if—(a)a benefit is payable to a member under
clause 8(a) of the relevanttrust deed;
and(b)the member was a part-time employee on
the day the memberceased to be an employee.(2)For the purpose of calculating the
benefit, the member’s membershipperiod is to be
multiplied by the following fraction—WFwhere—“W”is
the number of the member’s working hours for the period;“F”is the number of full-time hours for
the period.†PART 3—SEAQ SUPERANNUATION FUND˙Application of this Part10.This Part applies in respect of a
member who, under section 18 of theArticles,
contributes to the Scheme in accordance with the trust
deed.

deed of the Southern Electric Authority ofQueensland
Superannuation Fund—Defined Benefit Plan.˙Determination of benefit under r.8, 9, 11,
12(3) or 12(4) of trust deedfor part-time
employees12.(1)This section
applies if—(a)a benefit is payable to a member under
rule 8, 9, 11, 12(3) or12(4) of the trust deed; and(b)the member was, for a period, a
part-time employee; and(c)the entire
period would, but for this section, be included in themember’s membership period.(2)For the purpose of calculating the
benefit, the following proportion ofthe period is
included in the membership period—WFwhere—“W”is
the number of the member’s working hours for the period;“F”is the number of full-time hours for
the period.˙Determination of salary for part-time
employees13.For the purpose of calculating a
benefit payable to a member underthe trust deed,
the member’s salary during any period that the member isemployed part-time is taken to be the amount
that would be the member’ssalary if the member were employed

section applies if—
