force on 1 August 19922]˙Short title1.This
regulation may be cited as theLocal Government
SuperannuationRegulation 19923-4.˙Commencement2.This
regulation commences on 1 July 1992.˙Application for exemption3.An
application for exemption under section 35 of the Act is to be
madein the form approved by the Board.˙Payments by local authorities to
Board4.A local authority must make payment to
the Board under section 36(1)of the Act within
30 days of the Board’s notifying the local authority of theamount owing.˙Interest on unpaid contributions5.For the purposes of section 37(1) of
the Act, the prescribed rate ofinterest is 14%
per annum.˙Instalments6.Forthepurposesofsection38(2)oftheAct,theprescribedinstalments
are—(a)if the permanent employee is paid
weekly—as near as possible,

Regulation1992equal weekly instalments of 1/52 of
the employee’s liability; or(b)ifthepermanentemployeeispaidfortnightly—asnearaspossible, equal fortnightly
instalments of 1/26 of the employee’sliability;
or(c)if the permanent employee is paid
monthly—as near as possible,equal monthly
instalments of 1/12 of the employee’s liability.˙Reduction in amount of
contributions7.For the purposes of section 40(3)(a)
of the Act, the prescribed time forgiving notice to
the Board is 60 days from the day on which the employee’ssalary decreases.˙Election8.For
the purposes of section 38B of the Act, a permanent employeemust
give a notice of election on or before 30 September
1992.
