AUTHORITYREGULATION 1990[as amended by
all amendments that commenced on or before 14 July 2000]˙Short title1.ThisregulationmaybecitedastheFireandRescueAuthorityRegulation 1990.˙Definitions2.In
this regulation—“community protection centre”includes ambulance centre, fire
station,StateEmergencyServiceheadquarters,AirSeaRescuestationandCoast Guard centre.“level”,ofabuilding,includesanybasementormezzaninelevelofthebuilding.“licensed”, in relation to
premises that are used other than as an oil or fueldepot, means premises for which a licence
has been issued under theLiquor Act 1992to sell
liquor.“lot”means a lot
included in a community titles scheme under theBodyCorporate and Community Management Act
1997.“outdoor storage area”includes an area used as a builder’s or
contractor’syard, a garden materials storage centre, a
fenced area for parking orstorage (other than for retail sale)
of heavy equipment, materials, motorvehicles and
boats.“premises”includes—(a)land; and(b)a
building or structure in or on land;in a local
government area but does not include—(c)a
hotel; or

premises.“students”includes
full-time and part-time students (other than externalstudents).“tavern”means a premises in relation to which a
general licence has beenissued under theLiquor Act
1992.˙Repeals3.(1)TheFire
Brigades (Financial Arrangements) Regulation 1970andtheRural Fires
Regulation 1987are repealed.(2)Each
regulation made—(a)undertheFireBrigadesAct1964andamendingtheFireBrigades
(Financial Arrangements) Regulation 1970;(b)under theRuralFiresAct1946and amending
theRuralFiresRegulation 1977;is
repealed.˙Prescribed forms4.(1)The
forms to be used for the purposes of the Act are the formsapproved by the commissioner.(2)Apersonmayrequestthecommissionertogivethepersonadocument setting out a form approved under
subsection (1).(3)Thecommissionermustcomplypromptlywitharequestundersubsection (2).˙Administration fee—Act, s 117(4)7.For section 117(4) of the Act, the
administration fee for a financialyear, to which a
component local government is entitled, is to be calculatedas
follows—

prescribed properties for which it gives fire levynoticesforthefinancialyearisnotmorethan40000—theamount worked
out by multiplying the number of properties by$2.92;(b)if the number of prescribed properties
for which it gives fire levynotices for the
financial year is more than 40 000—the amountworked out using
the following formula—$116 800 + (N - 40 000) x $2.45where—“N”means the number of prescribed
properties.˙Constitution of urban districts—Act, s
10610.(1)A portion of the
State shown on an urban district map is—(a)constituted an urban district for the
purposes of the Act; and(b)assigned the
name specified on the map.1(2)In
this section—“urban district map”means a map
mentioned in section 106(2) of theAct.˙Annual contributions of owners of
prescribed properties—Act, s 10811.(1)Each
urban district mentioned in schedule 1 is assigned to the
firelevy class opposite it in the
schedule.(2)Each category of property mentioned in
the 1st column of schedule 2is assigned to
the fire levy group specified.(3)Theamountofthecontributiontobepaidbytheownerofaprescribedproperty,forafinancialyear,istheamountspecifiedinschedule 2 according to—(a)the fire levy group to which the
category of property is assigned;1A
copy of an urban district map may be inspected free of charge,
during officehours, at the head office of the Queensland
Fire Service and at other places thecommissioner
considers appropriate.

category of property is assigned to more than 1 fire levy
group,thecontributiontobepaidisthehigherorhighestofthecontributionspayable for the
groups to which the category is assigned.˙Property not to be prescribed property—Act, s
10511A.Forsection105oftheAct,premisesvestedintheQueenslandHousing
Commission are prescribed not to be prescribed property if
thepremises are—(a)vacant land; or(b)adwelling,includingasingleunitresidence,amulti-unitresidence or a
lot used for residential purposes.˙Annual
returns by component local governments—Act, s 10912.For section 109 of the Act, the
particulars prescribed are the numberof properties in
each fire levy class for each category of property in a firelevy
group.˙Discount for pensioners—Act, s
11013.(1)A pension
payable under a law of the Commonwealth is declaredto be
a pension for section 110 of the Act.(2)For
section 110(2) of the Act, it is declared that a pensioner, who
isthe owner of a prescribed property that is
the principal place of residence ofthepensioner,istobegrantedadiscountof20%onthecontributionspayable under
part 10 of the Act for the property.˙Payments by component local governments to
authority—Act, s 11814.For section 118 of the Act, the
following are declared periods—(a)for
a component local government mentioned in schedule 3—
