Coal Council4Establishment of councilThe
Clean Coal Council is established.5Membership of council(1)The
council consists of at least 11 members made up of—(a)1 person who is to be the chairperson
of the council; and(b)5 representatives of the Government of
Queensland; and(c)5 representatives of the Queensland
black coal industrywho are nominated by ACALET; and(d)other persons who the Minister is
satisfied have relevantexperience in, or knowledge of, any
aspect of clean coaltechnology.(2)Members of the council are to be appointed
by the Minister bygazette notice.(3)Membersofthecouncilholdofficeontheconditions,including the
term of office, decided by the Minister.(4)The
Minister may change the conditions on which a memberof

including the sourcing of public and privatefunding;
and(b)assessing, and making recommendations
to the Ministerabout, which relevant projects should be
funded underthe agreement, and the amount of funding
that should beprovided; and(c)considering intellectual property issues
associated withrelevant projects; and(d)reporting to the Minister under section 7
about requestsfor funding, received by the council, for
projects relatingtocleancoaltechnology,includingrelevantprojects;and(e)co-ordinatingtheState’sinvolvementininternationalresearchcollaborationsrelatingtocleancoaltechnology,includingtheprojectthatis,immediatelybeforethecommencementofthissection,knownasFutureGen; and(f)if
asked by the Minister in writing, advising the Ministeronothermattersrelevanttothedevelopmentofcleancoal
technology.7Reporting to the Minister about
funding requestsThe council must if asked by the Minister,
and may on its owninitiative, report to the Minister about a
request received bythecouncilforfundingforaprojectrelatingtocleancoaltechnology, including a relevant
project.8Conduct of council’s business(1)The council may conduct its business,
including its meetings,in the way it considers
appropriate.(2)However, the council must meet at
