s1 3 s2 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Act 2001 TRANS-TASMAN MUTUAL RECOGNITION (QUEENSLAND) AUTHORISATION ACT 2001 [reprinted as in force on 3 August 2001] An Act to authorise the Governor in Council to make a gazette notice endorsing particular Commonwealth regulations for the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Act 1999 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Act 2001. 2 Definitions In this Act— “Commonwealth Act” means the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 (Cwlth). “principal Act” means the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Act 1999 .

s3 4 s4 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Act 2001 3 Authorisation The Governor in Council is authorised for section 5 of the principal Act to make, for the Commonwealth Act, section 43(1), a gazette notice in the form stated in the schedule. 1 4 Expiry This Act expires when the principal Act expires. 2 1 Section 5 of the principal Act (Endorsing proposed regulations under the Commonwealth Act) Section 43(1) of the Commonwealth Act— References to endorsing a proposed regulation 43.(1) For the purposes of this Part, a jurisdiction endorses a regulation if the designated person for the jurisdiction publishes a notice in the official gazette of the jurisdiction setting out and endorsing the terms of the regulation before it is made. 2 Section 8 of the principal Act provides for its expiry.

5 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Act 2001 SCHEDULE AUTHORISED GAZETTE NOTICE section 3 TRANS-TASMAN MUTUAL RECOGNITION (QUEENSLAND) AUTHORISATION NOTICE (NO. 1) 2001 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Notice (No. 1) 2001 . 2 Endorsement of proposed Commonwealth regulations amending the Commonwealth Act about energy efficiency labelling The Governor in Council endorses the proposed Commonwealth regulation, set out in schedule 1, to amend the Commonwealth Act in relation to energy efficiency labelling. 3 Endorsement of proposed Commonwealth regulations amending the Commonwealth Act in relation to South Australian legislation about firearms and other prohibited or offensive weapons The Governor in Council endorses the proposed Commonwealth regulation, set out in schedule 2, to amend the Commonwealth Act in relation to the Summary Offences Act 1953 (SA).

7 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Queensland) Authorisation Act 2001 SCHEDULE (continued) 1 Name of Regulations These Regulations are the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 Amendment Regulations 2001 (No. ) . 2 Commencement These Regulations commence on gazettal. 3 Amendment of Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 Schedule 1 amends the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 . Schedule 1 Amendment (regulation 3) [1] Schedule 2, after clause 2 insert in Part 1 2A Energy efficiency labelling A law of an Australian jurisdiction, to the extent that: (a) the law is enacted or made substantially for the purpose of promoting the conservation of energy; and (b) the law regulates the energy efficiency labelling of electrical products (however described). ———————————————————————————————————— Notes 1. 2.
