Act—BritishpharmaceuticalcodexmeansthebookcalledtheBritish pharmaceutical codex published under
the direction ofthe council of the Pharmaceutical Society of
Great Britain.BritishpharmacopoeiameansthebookcalledtheBritishpharmacopoeia
published under theMedicinesAct1968(UK)on the
recommendation of the Medicines Commission.BritishveterinarycodexmeansthebookcalledtheBritishveterinary codex
published under the direction of the councilof the
Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.currentBritishpharmaceuticalcodexmeansthelatestedition of the
British pharmaceutical codex that has effect forthisAct,asaddedtoandamendedbyadditionsandamendments that have taken effect for this
Act.current British pharmacopoeiameans
the latest edition of theBritish pharmacopoeia that has effect
for this Act, as added tooramendedbyadditionsandamendmentsthathavetakeneffect for this

s44s7DrugsStandardAdoptingAct1976current British veterinary
codexmeans the latest edition oftheBritishveterinarycodexthathaseffectforthisAct,asadded
to or amended by additions and amendments that havetaken
effect for this Act.4Adoption of codices and
pharmacopoeia(1)ThecurrentBritishpharmaceuticalcodexandveterinarycodex are the
codices in force in Queensland.(2)ThecurrentBritishpharmacopoeiaisthepharmacopoeiainforce
in Queensland.5Editions of codices and pharmacopoeia
etc. having effectfor Act(1)AregulationmaydeclarethataneditionoftheBritishpharmaceutical
codex, pharmacopoeia or veterinary codex haseffect for this
Act.(2)A regulation may declare that an
addition to, or amendmentof, a codex or the pharmacopoeia has
effect for this Act.6Prescribing standards for substances
and article sets(1)AregulationmayprescribethestandardforthisActofasubstanceorarticle,includingasubstanceorarticlethesubject of a monograph in the current
British pharmaceuticalcodex, pharmacopoeia or veterinary
codex.(2)Thestandardmaybeprescribedinanyway,includingbyreferenceto,forexample,composition,methodofpreparation,potency,quality,quantity,stability,sterilityandstrength.(3)A
regulation may prescribe tests for the standard.7Changes to monographs(1)AregulationmayprescribechangestoamonographinthecurrentBritishpharmaceuticalcodex,pharmacopoeiaorveterinary codex.
