An Act to amend the Holidays Act 1983 and the Industrial Relations Act 2016 for particular purposes

The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Part 1 Preliminary

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Holidays and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2022.

Part 2 Amendment of Holidays Act 1983

2Act amended

This part amends the Holidays Act 1983.

3Insertion of new s 15

After section 14
insert—

15Particular public holiday in 2022

(1)A public holiday is to be observed on 22 September 2022 for the National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty The Queen.
(2)To remove any doubt, it is declared that a reference in an industrial instrument under the Industrial Relations Act 2016 to a public holiday is taken, for 2022, to include the day mentioned in subsection (1).

Part 3 Amendment of Industrial Relations Act 2016

4Act amended

This part amends the Industrial Relations Act 2016.

5Amendment of sch 5 (Dictionary)

Schedule 5, definition public holiday, paragraph (a), last dot point, ‘14’—
omit, insert—
