(a)by sending the notice by post to a postal address approved by the commissioner under section 143C;

(b)by sending the notice by email to an email address approved by the commissioner under section 143C;

(c)by giving the notice using an electronic system approved by the commissioner under section 143C;

(d)another way approved by the commissioner under section 143C.

143C Approval of particular matters(1)The commissioner may approve—

(a)for section 143B(a)—a postal address for the sending of a notice of change of residential address by post; or

(b)for section 143B(b)—an email address for the sending of a notice of change of residential address by email; or

(c)for section 143B(c)—an electronic system for the giving of a notice of change of residential address; or

(d)for section 143B(d)—another way for the giving of a notice of change of residential address.

(2)The commissioner must publish notice of the approval on the QPS website.(3)The notice must state—

(a)for an approval under subsection (1)(c)—details of the electronic system, including how the system can be accessed; and

(b)the day, not earlier than the day the notice is published, the approval takes effect.

(4)The approval takes effect on the day stated in the notice under subsection (3)(b).143D Revocation of approvals(1)The commissioner may revoke an approval given under section 143C.(2)The commissioner must publish notice of the revocation on the QPS website.(3)The notice must state—

(a)details of the approval being revoked; and

(b)the day, not earlier than the day the notice is published, the revocation takes effect.

(4)The revocation takes effect on the day stated in the notice under subsection (3)(b).143E Register of approvals(1)The commissioner must keep a register of approvals given under section 143C.(2)The register must include the following information for each approval—

(a)details of the approval;

(b)the day the approval took effect;

(c)if the approval has been revoked under section 143D—the day the revocation took effect.

(3)The commissioner may keep the register in the way the commissioner considers appropriate.(4)However, the commissioner must publish the register on the QPS website.5Insertion of new s 162AAfter section 162—insert—162A Corresponding laws—Act, sch 2For schedule 2 of the Act, definition corresponding order, paragraph (b), the following corresponding laws are prescribed—

(a)the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW);

(b)the Firearms Act 1997 (NT);

(c)the Firearms Act 2015 (SA);

(d)the Firearms Act 1996 (Tas);

(e)the Firearms Act 1996 (Vic);

(f)the Firearms Act 2024 (WA).
